Evaporative coolers work by drawing air through a damp filter pad. Cooling is achieved from evaporation which is affected both by how low the ambient humidity is, and how much air is drawn through the filter. In addition to the air intake on the back of this unit which does have a cooling pad, this "cooler" also has air intakes on either side of the unit that don't have cooling pads. The upshot is, uncooled air from the two side vents is mixed in with the small amount of cool air generated in the single rear vent pad, making the unit pretty much ineffective for use as anything other than an overpriced fan.

Like other reviews I saw, we found that either after several weeks, the unit leaks. I attempted to caulk the rim of the reservoir, but the leak path is actually in the tower itself due to water pooling on the lower surface just above the reservoir and migrating to the edges, which don’t overlap with the reservoir itself. Videos show leak from base when fully assembled and show leak path by pulling out the reservoir slightly or by removing the honeycomb for a clear view. Unit is used indoors but is outside for demonstration due to excessive leaking. When working, the air cooler was marginal at best. We had to use refrigerated water to get cooler air to come out.

It is pretty gutless. I also purchased a $37 unit about the size of a small toaster which works better.

Worked good. After use of few weeks water pump not working very well there for the air isn't very cool and blows loudly

This is a great product and value for money. I bought this evaporative cooler in the heat of summer in VA which is very humid. Not only this cooler works great it has places to put ice cubes in and also comes with inbuilt ice containers that you can put along with the water and it blows artic air. It’s very easy to use and noise level is negligible. Very silent. I love it and I can actually sit in my sun room with some nice artic air blowing on my face. Highly recommended and amazing quality.

Didn’t cool as great as it was described to do. It was quite though. A fan would be better. I anticipated the ice introduced to the mix was a great feature, but nope. Disappointed.
