My husband had back surgery and this worked perfect to help him in and out of bed. The quality is amazing, Very sturdy. East to assemble and place.

My husband had back surgery and needed a sturdy rail to pull himself over and help him up. I ordered this, but I have a couple of issues with it. We are using an IKEA bed that has only one mattress and is a platform bed and it does not work well with it. The bed is not ours, but is downstairs so he has to sleep down there as I don't want him using the stairs. So this is all we have. You can hopefully see from the pictures we had to cut the slats apart where the base of the rail goes in order to have the rail close to the mattress. Otherwise, it would be too far from the bed and then the part that goes under the mattress makes the whole mattress stick up. The moral of this is that you cannot use it with this type of bed unless you do what we did. With that being said, the rail is extremely sturdy and the way it is designed it does not move at all when he uses it. Great Quality, you just need to make sure it will work with the type of bed frame you have.

This is a sturdy looking bed rail. I bought it because the description said it was foldable. It was not. Hopefully they change the description because this does not fold. I returned it to Amazon and bought a different solution that actually folded.If you do not need something that folds, this seems like it would be a sturdy option. I did not use it. I assembled it and as soon as I found out it did not fold, I returned it.

First off, this is well made, easy to assemble, and customizable/adjustable. This being said, there were some things I didn't really think about when getting this that impacts it usefulness in my situation.1. Because I have an adjustable bed base and normally leave the head part tilted up to sleep, this limits how far up I can install the bed rail. And because I have to put the rail lower down on the bed, the rail now gets in my way when I am trying to move my legs off to the side of the bed (even without the right side of the rail installed). However, if you are capable of sitting completely upright in bed with your legs still in the bed and then scoot down some before swinging your legs off the bed, you probably won't have my issue.2. If you are someone that doesn't have a lot of upper body strength, especially in the arms, this rail won't help you.3. I have a nightstand with 3 drawers next to my bed with my socks and underwear. I normally have to sit on the edge of the bed to get dressed and to be able to open the lowest drawer of the nightstand because I cannot bend that low. It didn't even occur to me that the rail would now prevent me from doing this (without always removing and reinstalling it).My 3 points above are nothing against this bed rail. It seems like it would be fantastic for a person that does not deal with the exact same disability issues. I only mention them because you might be in the same situation as me. I can only suggest that you carefully think about how you navigate your bed and bedroom space. I have no doubt that this bed rail would be perfect for a lot of people.

This side rail is a perfect addition to a bed or a sofa in order to help them have a stable way to get up. It is very helpful if you have mobility issues and it's very sturdy as well. You can adjust the height which is helpful as well to accommodate whoever is using it. It's very easy to assemble and it's easy to use. This is so helpful and I would recommend it for anyone. I have a below the knee amputation and I know the stability helps me get up off the sofa all the time and it makes it very much more safe for me. And it blends in so it doesn't look like a piece of medical equipment.#FoundItOnAmazon

For my mom's bed (thick mattresses) it really only gives about 2 inches above the mattress, Better than nothing but not exactly what I expected. The rails need more adjustability in my opinion but I did keep them.
