Do not buy this bed!! It took over 10 hours to assemble. It had hundreds of pieces, and screws, half of which were stripped. It is not safe for sleeping, especially for a child. It moves back and forth and is not stable. This bed should not be on the market

Overall solid, but far from perfect, and id give it a 3.5ish. For the price, it's good, but requires some work to make it better.The good:- quality is good, i didnt see any potential areas that could fail. Sturdy at the top bunk, I'm 235 lbs, and don't have concerns sleeping on top- shipping was surpringsly fast, and the configuration is fairly simpleSome of the so-so parts:- set up: simple enough for 1 person, but a couple of vague parts such as adding the header of the top bunk. I had mixed match the front and back, which was extremely difficult to remove later requiring me to use a crowbar causing me to slightly scratch the paint. The good part there are only 2 different bolts, and a few pages.- the ladder is rounded, which makes it painful to climb especially for adults, would have been nice to had a flat step, or padding- sways a lot, but this might be for all bunk beds, so I had to install anti shaking against the the side of the frames to extend to the wall. This helped a ton.- the bottom bunk is super squeaky, this is due to the bottom support beam doesn't sit against the bars, and the foam is way too thin. This causes the metal bars to have excessive moment, which the hollow frame echoes so it was hard to pin point. I added cardboard shims underneath each bar, and this helped greatly.- the guard rails on top are pretty short, and not substantial with a 7 inch bed. I supplemented this with a bed safety rail just in case for my daughter

Directions were easy to read and it assembled easily. Its only been up for a few hours, but seems to be nice and sturdy.
