Oh my god
This is what I’ve been looking for. Chip shop curry. You have to play with the instructions to get the consistency you want but it is sooo easy. I only wanted a me portion so I reduced the amounts but I had to increase the water as it was too thick, I had a lot of curry. I also had to make chips just to try it out such a sacrifice. I will definitely get this again.

The only curry sauce for my chips
You know when you go to a Fish 'n' Chip shop or Chinese takeaway and ask for a portion of curry sauce and you get the slightly darker brown type, usually without pineapple and raisins in? Well that's what this is.It's not just 'a bit similar', it's identical, and therefore perfect for using as a sauce for chips. It's very easy to make, you just add water and heat, it's a concentrate so it lasts for ages. You can add chicken, peas, coconut milk and vegetables etc and that makes the 'chicken curry' dish found on every Chinese takeaway menu (the one which inexplicably comes with free boiled rice or a fried rice 'upgrade') Anyway I'm not wasting my time doing that when it can be enjoyed as a genuine ketchup replacing wonder.I'm sure by now you've seen the delivery cost and scoffed incredulously at your screen but don't worry you can confidently order more than one tub, or other stuff from the same seller to bring the relative cost of the P&P down.

Small container but WOW this tastes delicious!
Photos can be deceiving and as such I was expecting a much bigger container. However, you only need a small amount of the concentrate to make a delicious curry. I used a quarter of the concentrate to make a chicken curry for 6. It made thick and creamy curry sauce, the kind you get in a Chinese take-a-way it tastes just as strong and when you mix it with veg and chicken it serves up a lovely meal. It does tend to stain plastic utensils and bowls though. I can’t recommend this enough. Try it!

Good sauce, but has an undercooked spice flavour that needs cooking out.
To us this is a little harsh and unrefined in flavour when it's made up straight. It possesses the flavours of uncooked spices. Anyone versed in spices knows that they need to be cooked out to develop a rounded flavour. There's definately a bitter tang from the cumin. So, for a straight up cook-and-serve proper Chinese curry sauce we don't really rate this as highly as we rate the Mayflower range.I've also razzed this up with just a little creamed coconut and stock then I let it simmer for about 20 minutes, and this improved the harshness drastically and made the whole flavour smoother. It tasted really good! I do this often anyway with the Mayflower brand for my five year old who loves very mild flavoured curry. As a sauce paste dissolved in stock, to add in to stir fried meat and vegetables it worked much better too. I particularly enjoyed it as part of a veggie mushroom curry. It also seems that a little less is required than when using the Mayflower powder blends although it takes a bit more welly with the whisk to dissolve it!The tub is very neat, compact and easy to store; for folk like me who like to reuse anything and everything packaging wise its a useful tub with a robust body and lid, if you don't mind that it advertises the contents. Being a black plastic body you couldn't recycle it though (boo).

The best Chinese Curry paste ever!
The best Chinese paste! Makes curry's exactly the same flavour as our favourite Chinese takeaway . Except now we are saving a fortune. The only prob was I didn't read it properly and ended up paying high postage. My fault. There was an offer if I bought two and there would have been no postage at all. The makers have changed the storage instructions. You used to be able to keep it in a cool place for 6 months, now it says - Once opened refrigerate and eat within a month. It's a fairly large pot so I will risk leaving it longer. Highly recommend product.

The best curry paste you can buy!
I absolutely love this curry paste. Make it up as directed on the tub and it turns out perfect every time. It tastes exactly like the curry sauce you'd be paying £2 for at the local chippy for a small tub of, so this is extremely economical. My favourite way to use this (other than with a plate of chips) is to add some stewing beef and onion in the slow cooker along with the prepared sauce. Put it in before I leave for work in the morning and by the time I get home, I have a lovely slow cooked beef curry waiting for me.

Quick and easy sauce
I love this curry sauce. It is not too hot or strong tasting. It is so easy to use just mix some paste with cold water to give a lovely sauce to which anything can be added. It is best initially to go by measured amounts but with practice amounts do not need to be measured so accurately. This is the second time that I have bought this item. Probably will; not be the last.
