Nifeliz DDA40X Locomotive Building Set with Base, Collectible Steam Train Building Toy Model for Adult Train Lovers, Ideal Gift for Home Décor (1603 PCS, NF10296)

I put this train set together with my 7-year-old, and it was a fun! It took us about 2–3 days, working in a few-hour stretches. The instructions were decent, but there were a few areas where they could be clearer—some steps required a bit of guesswork (but no more than other big box brands I suppose). That said, the final result was absolutely worth it! The build was engaging, the pieces fit well, and my son loved seeing the train come to life. Overall, I highly recommend it for anyone who enjoys detailed building projects! Totally worth the money- I will buy another set again.

It arrived sooner than expected, and it's a beautiful addition to my set of Nifeliz trains. I had no problems with the build and no deformed or missing pieces. This train is quite long but very sturdy, and it barely fits on my shelf. lol The earlier train sets from 2022-2023 didn't include a display base like this, so to maintain consistency with my display I chose to not build the display base. One thing I was disappointed with is the new format of the instruction book. The pictures are smaller to fit more assembly steps on each page resulting in a smaller book; however, the smaller pictures make it harder to identify colors and distinguish some small parts from each other.

I enjoyed building this locomotive. Had a couple of missing parts that I worked around but I'm still waiting for those parts 2+ weeks later. I waited almost a month for missing Big Boy parts. My reason for not giving this 5 stars is the instruction manual is it is hard to see the assembly diagrams because they are printed too dark and there are a couple of unmarked packages of parts that should be labeled and shown in the manual when they are to be used. This is a great kit for the money.

Cheaper than Lego but the instructions are not as good. My grandson can handle it .

My husband received this for a gift and absolutely loved it! Its awesome once built!

Although this kit has its issues, I still like it. The finished product is display worthy. I found that some of the pictures in the instructions would have been better straight on instead of at an angle. Also there was a wrong part in one of the packs, a cowl piece on the outside of the engine had gauges on it. Maybe a first time builder might have a problem when a step calls for 12 pieces and those pieces aren’t in that steps pack but they are in a separate bag altogether. But all in all I would build it again.
