Awesome sharper set
Picked this up after looking at other brands that were copies of the original. Love it. I never knew how dull my blades were until I maintained them with this. The magnet is strong and makes the sharpening fool proof. It is small enough to fit in the drawer, yet big enough to hold a chef knife with no problem. It’s so simple to use, it’s wild. Put knife in magnet. Run wheel along blade. Do both sides. Done. This set works great, saves time, refreshes your cutlery, and restores to joy of letting your knife do the work

Strong magnet
The media could not be loaded. If I could give this 10 stars, I would!!! The piece that holds the knife has such a strong magnet that the knives do not slip at all! It sharpens every size knife I have from the small blades to the ling knives with ease. The rolling device is so smooth and effortless to push. It is well crafted, designed, and worth every penny!!! Great product!!!

Excellent system for most people
I am a knife sharpening junkie. The good:This is the easiest to use, most precise way to achieve a constant sharpening angle, which any sharpenine junkie will tell you is 95% of the battle. I am really impressed with the ease of use and would recommend this system to anybody who doesn't want to make a career, or at least a sincere hobby, of sharpening. I sharpened several kitchen knives and they are indeed very sharp but more importantly, the process is just about foolproof. The other:I was hoping it would come with a few disks of different abrasive grits. One of the best sharpening systems I've used is the Wasabi system. It is a pain in the butt to set up, and it is more difficult to use, (but NOT super difficult), and it takes a little more skill to maintain a super consistent sharpening angle. But it comes with diamond stones up to 3000 grit, and after stropping, my knives consistently come out "sharp enough to shave". I sharpened 4 knives today with my new HORL-3 - using the same process for each - remove the black marker, smooth with the stainless disk, ,strop on leather - 2 sides, 1 charged with white, one with green. One knife came out sharp enough to shave - the other 3, not quite.Again, I think this is an outstanding system because it is so easy to sharpen at a consistent angle. Highly recommended to people who aren't as obsessed as me. If you simply included interchangeable discs and included a finer grit disk, I would give it five stars, but today I'm only giving it four.

Best knife sharpener/honer I've ever owned!
I bought the Horl3 to replace my Chef's Choice electric sharpener (which was recommended by America's Test Kitchen). I found the Chef's Choice ineffective as it was extremely difficult to keep the knife at the proper angle while the machine was vibrating. With the Horl3, my knives are always razor sharp, resulting in far fewer injuries.I like the fact that it's manual, compact in design, quiet, and easy to use. It's the matter of a few seconds to hone my chef's knife prior to prepping, and a sharp knife is a safe knife. I can now carve a roast into paper thin deli slices with my carving knife. It's really a game-changer.The design is a perfect example of form following function, and both pieces are well made. I highly recommend the Horl3.

It works!
It took some work, but I was able to resurrect if not improve my abused kitchen knives! Used often, your knives will sharp, and sharp is safe. Once the blade is machined to match the hone, the process is quick maintanence.Running a sharpie first helps you see that you have resurfaced the entire blade.

Works great, easy and fast to use
I figured that I would try it and it is great. I used to use a Spyderco Worksharp, but this is an order of magnitude faster, and puts on a better edge. I was skeptical of this type of sharpening, but I can now do all of my knives in a fraction of the time it used to take. Not often are things better than you expect, but this was very much worth the money.

Easy to use, good results
I am no knifesmith but I do like sharp knives. Tried cheap sharpening wet stones, did not get good results. The Horl Cruise is easy to use and gets my German steel kitchen knives sharp enough for my liking with little effort. While it is a little pricey you can tell by it's weight that it is well designed and constructed, certainly compared to the many cheap knockoffs. The diamond sharpening disc shows no sign degradation. Highly recommended.

Easy to use and sharpens nicely.
My left hand sometimes forgets it isn’t the dominate one but has no problem doing the same thing as the right hand. It’s my guess it’s as ambidextrous as my hands. It’s an efficient, clean, simple design. When my old “reliable” knife sharpener just wasn’t working quite right I had to find a replacement. This is it!It’s easy to use, after I looked at the pictures to see how pieces fit together. My mind made it seem more difficult than it actually is to use. The knife is held against the magnetized angle edge and the wheel rolls along the blade to sharpen it.All my stainless knives are readily attracted to the area that holds it, and the wheel readily rolls along to sharpen.
