Excellent dupe for Le Labor The Noir 29! I have a sample of the original and it's a bit sharper, deeper, and more medicinal than this product, which is a bit softer and rounder overall, but at less than 1/10th of the price I have zero complaints. It's got a bit more rose as a top note, which I was initially a little worried about because rose notes tend to pull sour on me, but it works.It's definitely more of a skin scent (I think that's usually true of solid perfumes?) but this morning I pulled on a sweatshirt I wore with it two days ago and it was absolutely still there. I can't speak to longevity on the skin yet (the day I wore it i ended up working out and showering within an hour or two) but on fabric it's definitely a good laster!The texture is just like a makeup primer, which I like, not a greasy balm like a lot of solid perfumes.Lovely, unisex, cozy without being sweet, fig & tea without being a sugarbomb gourmand. Highly recommend.

I'm a certified "frag head" and collect and use fragrances from around the world as a hobby. (Shout out to my "Brotherhood of Scent", brothers if you happen to read this.) I say that to say I know and appreciate fragrance. I was very excited to see, try and gift this product to my wife.I've never seen or heard of a "solid perfume" before so I was intrigued. When I hear "solid" I think more to a deodorant or cocoa butter stick, but semantics aside it's definitely not a spray and more "solid". Ironically my daughter had said a week ago when we were cutting fresh basil that she wished she could bath in it and would make a basil perfume if she could. Imagine my surprise when I saw this then!When first uncapped it and gave a light squeeze, I got a palm full of clear oil. Uh oh! The product separated inside the bottle. There's no real way to "shake" a squeeze tube so...What I ended up doing (after cleaning up.) was putting the cap on and "mashing" the tube back and forth best I could until the product came out opaque.As a lotion, it was pretty nice. The scent however, left me feeling underwhelmed. I was wondering if perhaps a key amount of essential oil came out with the first "surprise" and that changed the fragrance. However, no, it couldn't have been because that "oil" had barely any scent to it. If it was a basil or vetiver oil, it would have been POWERFUL!Speaking of scent: In the opening, I can pick up the basil. It's light, very light. That's a shame to me because the Italian in my veins loves the scent of basil. I think it could be used by a perfumer in so many ways especially as a top note instead of citrus that is so commonly used. This was a miss IMO.Vetiver: One of my all time favorites! One of my most go to fragrances to wear is from Ferrari "Essence of Vetiver." (Emilie Coppermann perfumer.) Vetiver is actually in the grass family and it's the roots that are dried and the oils extracted from. Haiti is one of the best sources for it. A gallon of quality vetiver oil can go for a few thousand dollars to give you an idea. It's not cheap, and that's why there are synthetic dupes of vetiver that kind of work, but are NOT the real thing.I can't find the vetiver in this scent, not even a synthetic version. I have vetiver, I love vetiver and it's just not there. So what I am left with is a sort of generic "scented lotion" with a hint of basil. In that light, it works well and has a little more presence than a typical lotion but I would not class this as a "perfume." My wife likes it, and will use it occasionally.It's just not a perfume to me. Sorry.

The perfume smells great.. I love the fact that it comes in a cream form, it doesnt stain my clothes because im not spraying it on. Definitely will order again.!!!

Wanted to try something different and picked up this unique herbaceous fragrance. It's woody or earthy with a distinct scent of basil and a hint of dried grass (where the earthy bit comes from). It's initially strong and did manage to calm in a timely fashion. It's not overly complicated, though, so ideal for those who want a simple, direct fragrance. Be aware the contents can separate, however; you'll need to squish and re-incorporate the contents periodically. Received a few compliments with this one, so if you're looking for something new, do consider it an option.

This is the first time I’ve tried a solid perfume, and I liked it very much. It’s not a spray but rather a cream, and I found that you only need to apply a ‘pea-sized’ amount on one wrist and then rub the other wrist against it. You can also add it to other areas like your neck or below your ears.The scent is as described: strongly woody and fresh. I could still smell it on myself for about 8 hours, which is quite unusual. Normally, with traditional perfumes, you stop noticing the scent on yourself after a while, but others can still smell it. With this, I could sense it on multiple occasions throughout the day.I think this type of perfume is a nice alternative, and I’m interested in trying more solid perfumes in the future.We also tried the Black Tea & Fig Scent version.This was more of the unisex type but my wife decided to keep it and use it, this is her review:This perfume opens with an intense scent that pleasantly softens within a few minutes, leaving a delicate fragrance with a hint of sweetness; perfect for autumn and winter days.Its creamy texture allows for precise application, easily controlling the desired amount.
