Garofalo Wholewheat Organic Mafalda Corta Italian Pasta, 500g (pack of 1)

Great quality, excellent "tooth" - very flavorful and healthy. Stupidly Amazon packed the two that I bought in a paper bag, so some penne were broken.

The Garofalo brand is some of the best quality dried pasta I've bought in the UK. This Radiatori shaped pasta shape is fantastic for holding plenty of sauce, (especially more liquidy ones), due to its large surface area; Which is claimed to be based on the radiator shape of Bugatti cars! It is whole-wheat, so lower GI than white pasta and contains no egg so is suitable for a Vegan diet. In conclusion, this is a premium pasta, (made in Italy with a top-quality bronze die), with a shape that is very hard to find in the supermarkets. Perhaps not for everyday use at the price, but we enjoy it as a special treat for homemade sauces.

I switched us over to wholewheat pasta because my chap got a few less positive test results. I chose Garafalo because that is a brand I trust and they had a decent selection. With the spaghetti, I'll be honest - we do notice the change. It doesn't twirl the same. However, with the shapes the change is far less pronounced. I remember wholewheat pasta from years ago as being very unpalatable. This stuff is great, the texture is very similar and my ultra-fussy chap agrees.

Ordered these are very difficult to find wholewheat pasta in shapes other than fusilli and penne. Organic, tasty, holds shape well, highly recommended.

Hanno un bel sapore di cereali, intenso, che le rende buone anche in bianco o con un semplice filo d'olio e parmigiano. Tengono bene la cottura, il contenuto di fibre non le rende pastose, non si lasciano andare. Ottime anche consumate fredde, in insalata.

Nichts nimmt Nudelsoße besser auf als Radiatori. Leider schmeckt die Standardversion (Garofalo 87) trotzdem um Längen besser, als diese Vollkornvariante (Garofalo 5-87). Ich hätte es anders gewollt, aber dies ist leider kein Ersatz für das Original. Hey, außer natürlich jemand steht so richtig auf den typischen Vollkornnudelgeschmack. In dem Fall wären hier sechs von fünf Sternen zu vergeben. Ich tu's nicht, ich kann ihn höchstens akzeptieren.
