Steady and works as advertised
Purchased for a sign in my hotel lobby. Came as advertised. Metal construction is sturdy. I like the frame hinges, makes it easy to put in and take out signage. Great item for the price.

Loose base
Sign holder overall looks nice, decent quality. The bottom did not screw in enough for the base to be tight and secure, so I did have to add a washer. I recommend placing the washer between the post and base so the screw head still remains flush with the rubber matting on the bottom and will avoid scratching the floor(s).

Yeah, but is it durable?
Okay, so lots to explore. But the short version is "yes, this is quality — BUT, it is vastly different from other sign stands — better in some ways, others not. Let's start from the bottom and work our way up, if you don't mind. I promise this will make sense in the end (or I suppose you could just skip reading this altogether, but what is the point of a critical review if you skim/skip it?) So this has a FLAT base. That is super important because you can SLIDE THIS under boxes. So if you are at the supermarket and this stand is in front of cases of wine or sausages or whatever ver "on sale at this amazing price!" you can slide this under the bottom box to make sure this never falls over, and it tucks the sign in for more "pedestrian room" in the aisle. You tend to think of these things when it is your space. You can't do this with other sign stands that use a raised base that is filled with sand or water. As to stability, the powder-coated metal base is weighty enough, and has an anti-skid/slip mat glued to the bottom. Comparing the two options I think I like this better than the raised hump models. You have more versatility and is slightly less of aa trip hazard. Okay, so the "stem" (the two metal sticks that make yo the stand part of this thing) are actually heavy metal — like an alloy that may or may not be cheap steel, but unlike other stands, you do NOT want to get hit with one of these. They are incredibly strong, and the thread length is impressive, These screw together, but you get about 3/4 of an inch of thread. This means that these are easy to assemble (very smooth to screw and unscrew) but when linked together they are exceptionally strong (one long pipe NOT to hit people with). Then there is the adjustment . . . knob? Knob is not the right word. Maybe "handle?" This is not plastic! (Wait really? Finally?) We are so used to ancillary parts being plastic these days that it is refreshing to see something that is made of (some kind of) metal. This particular sign stand will last for CENTURIES (as long as it does not rust). Someone really put effort into this. Until . . . Yeah, the sign part. Well? I mean it is still made of mystery metal (it might be an aluminum alloy?), and it is really durable (possibly even overkill), but how to "change out your flyer" is a but of a PITA! okay, I have tested and used all sorts of these in my own business, and I guess I prefer the kind where you can flip open the sides and the top. With this you flip up the top but you kind of have to dig out your flyer. This comes with a foam core backing — whatever you do, do NOT lose that! That foam core is a spacer that acts like aa backing. Don't even try to pull this out. I did and then I realized it is made to stay in. It's not easy to remove anyway. So you carefully slip out the plastic cover and your brochure/sign/flyer (whatever) and then replace it. but now you have to worry about fingerprints, so be careful about that. This is not the most annoying thing in the world but given how the stem and base of this thing could be used as a weapon in World War Z (the zombie uprising), the durability of this makes up for the "occasional annoyance" encountered when changing signs — which hopefully you don't have to do very often. One last complaint: This does not rotate (spin). You can adjust the forward backward angle with a knob, but if you want your sign in a sideways (landscape) mode you have to break out the tools and unscrew screws and replace them, and this is not something you can do "out front." You have to drag your (kind of heavy) sign stand to the back and fix that and then drag it back out — or sod all of this when there are no customers around. It "would be nice" if the sigh rotated from portrait to landscape without major surgery. So all in all, this is a TRULY PROFESSIONAL stand, but I am not a huge fan of the sign part. Still, it will withstand the Zombie Apocalypse. And it is well made.

do not buy
completely useless. must have gotten one with a manufacturing error because the pole piece won't screw together at all. sadly didn't get around to putting it together until after the return window so now i just have trash to dispose of.

Easy to assemble but missing parts
Easy to assemble but it was missing a screw. Wasn’t a huge deal because we have extra screws but still annoying
