Nice heavy materials. The Amazon listing states that it will test up to 24V, but the package states up to 48V. I already had a test light that just lights up. This one lights up and displays the DC voltage. The tip is very sharp and can pierce wire insulation. It has a rubber cover for the tip...a good safety feature. It does not have a fuse, so not sure what will happen when testing the wrong circuit. Also, the tip meets the circuit board with a floating connection held together by a spring at the bottom of the board - see photo. If this floating connection becomes disconnected, this tester will give a false open circuit. It will get the job done if you pay attention to what you are doing.

Make sure when you get this, you know that this is not powered for basic continuity test. With that in mind, it does help to test some low volatge circuits. I am currently using this for LED christmas light testing and it has been really helpful
