Takes some practice to get a straight continuous line all the way around a bottle when using just by hand but once you have the hang of it, it scores perfectly. I have neatly cut several wine bottles in half using this tool to score the bottle and then pouring boiling water from the kettle over the line and then rinsing with cold water (may need to repeat the hot/cold water pouring a couple of times before the bottle separates).

Worked the first few times, eventually the inevitable happened and I lost the end of my finger, oops. Wear gloves and don't do it up too tight. When it doesn't try and claim one of your hard grown digits it does actually work rather well.

I have been cutting bottles for a while now, not always with great results. I thought this might be the panacea I was hoping for.While the idea sounds good, the delivery in this product leaves much to be desired.There is not a way to line up both adjustable sides, so always getting the score line to meet up is awkward. With the item I received, the locking handles to secure the bottle in place did not work. They would not open sufficiently, to then be able to lock in place. One did, the other did not.I have not thrown this away, as I feel the concept is a good one. I plan at some date, far in the future, possibly when I am retired and have plenty of time on my hands, to take my time and find a way to set this up so it does work consistently. However just now, life is too short.Overall, I would not recommend this product.

Feels like a bad copy of a proper produce. Cutting tool wont stay back, clamps hit side of body and one of the screws isn't threaded properly - all round pretty poor.

Seems to work well if the bottle is perfectly round.It certainly is not as easy as you tubers make out, but after about 20 breaks, I finally got a winner.Built well enough, just be patient with it and buy some elastics to place on bottle after scoringUPDATE - Having used this and practiced with it for about a month now, it really is very simple to use. I have increased the star rating too, as it just requires a little patience. Invest in the elastic things though or just use some thick elastic bands.

prodotto in plastica non molto robusto, se non si utilizza con la dovuta attenzione si rompe in breve.a parte questo: nonostrante abbia una manualità "buona", nonostante abbia provato con molti diversi tipi di bottiglie, nonostante ci abbiano provato anche altre persone... nessuno è riuscito a ottenere un taglio decente.è difficilissimo riuscire a tagliare una circonferenza perfetta, partendo e tornando sullo stesso punto, soprattutto perchè lo strumento non offre una presa ferma anche se lo si stringe (e se si stringe troppo si piega-rompe l'attrezzo o non ruota più).tolto ciò, anche riuscendo nell'operazione, l'incisione non è pulita nè sufficiente a garantire (attraverso altri passaggi con sbalzi di temperature ad esempio) una rottura controllata.che delusione :-(
