Higher end at a lower price
I would never consider Benchmade knives to be a great value and feel that they are a bit pricier than they should be. That being said, I love their knives and have fallen in love with the Axis Lock, so I keep buying them. While still fairly expensive at $130, this knife contains a lot of the build qualities of their higher end models that cost quite a bit more. You're getting G10 (in my case) which is nicer than their grivory or versaflex, plasticy options. You get a nice open flow-through design with slick looking pillars that hold the liners together. You're also getting a nice steel with the S30V. Compare this knife to something like the standard Griptilian that streets for slightly over a hundred bucks and contains worse quality materials, and I've think you've got an unsung hero in the Benchmade line.Don't get hung up on this being part of the Hunt line thinking that it will be a bad option for EDC. This knife is perfect for EDC. Yes it has a recurve, but recurves are generally advantageous concerning the majority of cutting tasks with the only downside being they are slightly more difficult to sharpen depending on your method. I have a mini-grip that always left me wanting a slightly largely handle to grip onto. This knife is exactly that and carries great in the pocket as well. With the addition of a deep carry clip, I have an extremely desirable EDC knife. If you're looking for a premium Benchmade feel at a lower price point, then I think this is a great place to start.

Great knife
I love this knife. It feels really good in the hand and cuts through things like they're butter. I get a lot of compliments on it when someone notices it. I use it as my daily carry and so far it's been great.

The knife is a joy to handel
The knife arrived in perfect condition: smooth action, no blade play, exact blade centering when closed and shaving-sharp (although I wouldn't recommend it). This is my third Benchmade purchase and all three have been outstanding. I also have several Spyderco and Buck knives along with a Gurber and Kershaw. Benchmade makes knifes that have solid construction and great ergonomics, that are also light weight. The North Fork exemplifies these characteristics. Although it's not my best (nor most expensive) knife, it is my favorite. It feels so good in hand (mine has the Diamond wood handle); it is light yet robust (steel liners); it's certainly up to any normal task one would use it for, and it has beautiful classic lines. One also gets a fairly long cutting edge for a three inch blade.

This is a great pocket knife for every day carry in my opinion
This is a great pocket knife for every day carry in my opinion. I enjoy a small fixed blade, but unfortunately those little knives are demonized. I ordered this to be a quality pocket that would last me a good amount of time and be city friendly. I've only had this knife about a day, so this is an initial review only.It arrived new in box, in good shape, and sharp. The blade is just a hair under 3 inches. This blade length was important to me because so many cities have a blade length limit of 3 inches. The action is smooth and locks solid into place. There is a SMALL amount of left to right play when it is open, but I mean very little. The wood handles are well made, no cracks, with a beautiful dark brown pattern to them. Again, I felt the wood handles appeared to be more city friendly. I have medium sized hands and the handle fits me well, but if I had large hands this knife might feel too small. The jimping on the front and rear of the blade is semi aggressive without being painful. I greatly enjoy the shape of this blade having a slightly curved belly. Fit and finish are fantastic.I am glad I ordered this pocket knife and feel that I received excellent quality for my money spent.

Super Sharp!
I bought this knife (August 26th, 2017) because I went cheap on my last knife and it literally fell apart in my hand one day. Won't make that mistake again.Pros: Really sharp blade that holds its edge well, with no wiggle in the blade. Smooth, easy blade action when opening and closing, and solid locking mechanism. Well balanced, and a perfect fit in my hand. Beautiful knife and I've received several compliments on it.Cons: The handle color appears to be fading and the clip screws are loose already.Because I use this knife daily, I do expect some handle fading and the clip screws loosening over time requiring a little extra maintenance, just not so quickly. Keeping the handle conditioned and using a loctite type product for the screws makes these issues easy to resolve, so I'm overall very happy with it.

99% perfect edc
Perfect size for my edc knife. Some might find the handle less trippy than they wanted but I was looking for something that was not intimidating and would not try to saw through my pockets like g-10 does. I am happy with the stabilized wood pattern on mine and don't mind the texture. Then again I was never one to look at a classic Buck 110 and think, wow that could really use some texturing and grip tape. This handle shape works fine and the finger well keeps me where I need to be just fine. Handle shape is pretty much a griptilian but better because it has full length metal liners that are milled out to reduce weight. My only gripe at all is that the thumb studs are a little long and hang the knife up when going in and out of the pocket. Also the edge right where my thumb hits is actually sharp on both thumb studs which is a little upsetting on a knife with otherwise great fit and finish and from a company that charges you enough you should be getting a perfect production knife. Blade length under 3 inches makes this a great edc if the thumb studs don't frustrate you.

Not sharp as it should be. Wood colour different on both sides.
Knife is beautiful. Really good workmanship. Unfortunately it is not "shaving sharp". Of course in every city there is a "knife community" and it is easy to find someone who knows how to sharpen this blade. Also wood colour is different on both sides. On one is like mahogany (rather dark), on another more like oak. Not a tragedy, but for this pice they should mach both sides IMHO. After proper sharpening knife is amazing!! If you hesitate - don't - knife is worth it - but be ready to find someone who knows how to sharpen this blade. The colour mismatch is not a problem for me - as it will be working EDC knife - but if it is a "collection item" it would not be acceptable.
