I am hoping this device works ... I have one (different brand) that works well in my car. I found the instructions to be unclear as to setting the different modes. Here's what what I discovered as Rufus and I chatted: to set the different modes in the model with on/off button on bottom , plug in and turn on. Blue light shows on top. To rotate through the colors (settings), press and hold the other button (LED), release, then hit the on/off button again. That did the trick. After that you can leave it on the setting you prefer. Now, let's hope it gets the mice out of the garage and cars!

Have not seen any sign of rodents in my house or outdoor area since purchasing. One poodle would not enter the house while the strobe was activated however. Very effective!
