Doesn't mute anything
I should have checked the reviews. I bought it because I needed a mute switch, but the switch does literally nothing. At least if it muted the sound instead of the mic it would have been funny, but it literally doesn't change a thing.

sounds fine to me. mute switch has no effect. a balance control would be great. if channels are swapped i have not noticed. good for my application. mac

Failure / had to repair if you are a gamer
Mine the right and Left were reversed This would prob not be noticed for Music. But I game so this was a failure. I was able to open and resolder the connections. Be warned if you are not electrical inclined and good with a soldering iron do not buy this for gaming !!!

Flips left and right headphone audio
It works, but once plugged in, the left and right sounds get switched. If I use a plug from the headphones directly into the computer, the sound is fine. Once I plug my headphones into this though, the audio gets mixed up. And if you plug the adapter into your headphones and then an audio cord into the computer, the sound just breaks.

do not buy
defective, i connected this to my headset and it swaps the audio so left is right and right is left
