Avoid the slick-looking single-surface scales. They measure weight with sensors in their feet, which makes them terribly inconsistent when the surface they sit on isn't perfectly flat and level. This platform-on-top design may not look as modern, but is much more functional and provides more consistent results.Tested by weighing various combinations of coins. Both by themselves, and tared with a 2+ pound weight. Results were not absolutely perfect, but consistent and accurate within +/- 0.1 grams error. Even with the extra weight. That's more than good enough for kitchen and coffee purposes, and better than any other scale I've seen in this price range. If you're looking to measure gold or diamonds... what are you even doing here, stop being cheap and go spend some real money.The fact that it's both USB rechargeable and supports AAA batteries is a nice bonus.The "buttons" are touch sensors, sealed under the plastic display cover. Great for spill resistance. But no haptic feedback (you can't feel a click or even a button), contrary to description.The single usability downside is that it's a bit slow to react. It does react, even to small changes. But there's a noticeable delay. Like it wants to hold its current value and hesitates to move. I've made no attempt to measure it, but it feels longer with smaller changes. Maybe up to 0.5 seconds for large changes, and just north of a second for really small changes. Doesn't bother me but some people might get annoyed by it.

This is a nice little scale that does what it is supposed to do.Pros:-Affordable-Easy to read-Easy to operate-Able to take up to 5kg, which is great if you need to use it with a portafilter (you guessed it, I use it for my espresso)-Easy to clean-Can be charged by the usb port-Looks good!-Precise and consistent out of the box.-Perfect to weigh espresso. It can be too thick to put under a grouphead, though. I use the gaggia classic pro, and it helps me a lot to get consistent shots!Cons:- Feels a bit flimsy, but it is to be expected at that price point. Just don't drop it!I have been using it for a few weeks and still no complaints! I will edit in a few months if anything changes. Scales are quirky at times but these so far have been accurate and consistent enough in use. The buttons are clicky type and function well. Does what it should with the standard settings and setup, seems to read the same taking backup checks (weigh, take off, weigh). The plate is decent size and the recharge has lasted enough in normal use. Calibration is almost a gimmick and I really can't see much value other than the knowledge it can weigh 50g numerous times accurately. In the end I'll tare and take what the scale tells me and not concern about the tolerances as long as its repeatable (it is so far).
