Amazing!
My mini schnauzer loves this. Holds her small bully sticks in a way that she can get them between her little paws and chew like a crazy girl. Good weight that allows her to carry them room to room to be with her people.

Mostly keeps the last bit safe
Used to give my pup long chewsticks w times on them so I knew about how long it took to get to the end, but as soon as she saw me heading to her, she'd wolf them down quickly so I couldn't get it. I started strategizing how I'd approach her pretending I wasn't going to bother her then lunge for the stick to remove it forcefully from her mouth. Yes I could also just tell her NO, but it's a treat for Heaven's sake! It shouldn't come w negativity! So thought I'd try this.At first she wasn't interested in the "new" device that was "in her way". But soon, like 1 day ha!, she gave it a go. Now it's a staple. So far it has mostly kept the last bit of my pup's chew sticks intact. Some sticks clamp easier and more securely than others. You can tell when u tighten it. For those that tend to wiggle and know they can eventually be pulled out, I drill a small hole at the end & screw down into that. Works fine. I've also cut away parts of the end of very large sticks to make them fit. Holds them fine.I have an extremely aggressive chewer. She will also start chewing the holder itself, and carries it around like a bone hoping to get that last piece out, which helps me have time to get it and remove the piece and toss it!So far I love it, no more monitoring her chewing as closely. I still do, just not as closely and it gives me time to get it at my convenience and toss the last piece out. Probably about 90% effective and that works great for me! So much better than b4! Had it about 2 weeks. Holding up good so far with just some bite marks on the outside. : )

Pup likes it, i like it. not concerned about choking- great in my book!
got a new puppy a few weeks ago. Was concerned about him choking on the end of a chew stick after reading online and seeing him try to swallow a carrot whole. this will not work for all sizes of chews but so far i have had success with turkey and beef tendon dog chews and small yak cheese chews from pupford. tendons fit with little to no struggling, the small yak cheese required some shoving in (or you could let your dog chew it down slightly). I’d think any yak cheese bigger would be too bug. I have a bully stick and bully braid i haven’t put in yet because too greasy for a puppy to eat but i think they would fit 100% fine.My dog seems to enjoy chewing the chews as much in the tool as without- or potentially more because he also likes chewing on the holder! It is holding up well to his puppy wear and tear after ~2 weeks. will update in the future. It’s not sticky. I noticed no smell. It helps my dogs chewing ability. the thickness is not a lot but has fit all of my chews i have thus far. it doesn’t fit pigs ears but i take those away when they get too small and they’re also pretty greasy

Drill a hole in the bully stick
Update 2: I have not had any bully sticks fall out yet since drilling the hole deeper and wider. For reference I use the 12 mm drill bit to make the initial hole then the size up to get the top of the hole wider and a size down to get it deeper. I don’t make the hole too big otherwise the bully stick might break or slip out. (If anyone else decides to use this method, the drill bit sizes used will depend on the size of the holder and your bully sticks). Its a little work, but pre-drilling a handful at a time will pay off later.Anyway, the dogs will chew on and bully stick & holder trying to get the last bits of bully stick out and they can’t. This definitely extends the entertainment value of a bully stick in a safe way and the holder is super durable.Update 1: After letting each of my dogs chew on the bully sticks all day I only had 1 bully stick fall out just once, instead of many times before I drilled the hole. Big improvement but still not perfect. I think when the knob is cranked down tight against the bully stick, the movement from chewing is unscrewing the knob. Periodically tightening the screw could prevent this but that kinda defeats the reason I got these in the first place. Today I tried drilling the hole a bit deeper and wider than I needed, so when the knob was all the way down, the screw was still in the bully stick but not touching it tightly, basically the bully stick could spin freely without wiggling the screw loose or falling out. I wiggled the bully stick all around, pulled on it to make sure it was staying. I let the dog have it and it didn’t come out at all. I think if I had the small or extra small holder with the thick bully sticks this would work even better but im not about to waste more money.Original post:I decided to purchase these bully stick holders because they looked well made and had a recessed knob that wouldn’t get chewed or spun around by accident. The price point is fairly high but if it gives me peace of mind that my dogs won’t choke, its worth it. Sadly the first time I gave my dogs bully sticks with these they kept pulling them out, no mater how tight I screwed it in. The bully sick turns a bit loosening the knob making it easy for the dogs to dislodge it. After looking at some reviews to see if this was a common problem I came across one review that said they added a sheet metal screw to the other side and it fixed the problem. I was going to try that but if the screw ever came loose and fell out that could be real dangerous. I ended up ordering a bunch of counter sink drill bits and used the 12 millimeter bit (pictured) above. Its just about the same width as the plastic screw on the medium holder. I drilled the hole about 1/4 inch deep right in the middle of the bully stick. I put the stick in the holder and tightened the screw all the way down. (I also did that with a yak chew and holder.) So far the bully sticks (and yak chew) haven’t budged at all today. I’ll report back.
