CURT 13337 Class 3 Trailer Hitch, 2-Inch Receiver, Fits Select Lexus NX200t, NX300, NX300h , Black

This receiver fits perfectly on my 2018 Lexus NX300 F Sport. It bolted to the frame in the pre existing Lexus factory mounting points. I removed the rear exhaust/muffler to make the job a lot easier. The instructions will tell you to remove the exhaust from the hangers and slide it out of the way. But, if you have a F Sport, the exhaust tips will get stuck in the exit ports in the F Sport bumper. You can remove the exit ports from the bumper so the exhaust drops out of the way, but removing the rear section of the muffler is quicker and easier IMO. I started to take the bumper apart and quickly realized it’s way easier to completely remove the rear exhaust. The muffler is only 2 bolts and 3 hangers compared to 8 screws and 8 clips in the bumper, and you still have to remove the hangers anyway. It’s a pretty basic procedure to remove the rear exhaust, but if you’re not mechanically inclined, you may not want to attempt it. Overall, If you do your own oil changes, you can install this receiver. It’s only slightly above that level of difficulty.

Two-Man Job, Make Sure You Clean Out The Frame Weldnuts This will save you a lot of time ... Also place a small amount of either Lithium Grease or Teflon Lubricant on the bolts this will ease the installation...Heavy Duty For Sure ... ( Lexus NX300-h about 1 hour )

All required hardware included for installation.For the NX200t you can install without a lift if you can fit under the vehicle OK. The hard part is removing the three rubber muffler bracket mounts. Pull the rubber mounts off first. In my installation I also found it easiest to remove the two rearmost muffler mount brackets (the metal bracket, not the rubber mounts, ) from the frame, then attach the hitch and reinstall the muffler mount brackets.

Installed it myself in about 30 minutes on a 2018 Lexus NX 300h. Well built unit... Sturdy AF.A couple of comments.1. on the hybrid you don't need to drop the exhaust at all. It will move out of your way to install this with a small nudge. Made torquing the receiver on a bit slower because you didn't have full range of ratchet movement on the right side, but I wasn't looking forward to that part... so not having to drop the exhaust was great. I expect the non-hybrid is a different story.2. the tolerances are tight.. so 2 people would be much faster to install because of the angles, but I was able to raise it on 2 paint cans, and then shimmy it into place.

Curt makes nice products, but this one was a challenge. Directions were good, but it does not indicate you must physically remove the back portion of the exhaust on a Lexus NX300f. It just tells you to remove the exhaust from the hangers. Ok, I can deal with that. Now on to installing it. The hitch was too narrow to fit over the frame rails! I had to use a hydraulic jack to "expand" the inside deminision of the hitch. And then it barely fit. I used the same jack to push it up over the frame. What a pita! What should have been a thirty minute job turned into an hour plus....plus a few choice words. And yes, I have installed hitches in the past. This one was the biggest challenge by far. Good luck! I just got my 2020 NX300 a week ago and needed a receiver hitch for my Thule bike carrier. I went for the Class III vs Class II for overall stiffness and the 13337 delivers. It is way beefier than it looks in the photos but isn't so heavy that one person can't install it.The install was pretty straightforward but I agree with the other reviewers that you have to remove the entire back section of the exhaust. The problem is that the decorative shrouds around the exhaust tips won't allow the back section of the exhaust to drop more than an inch or so. (This may be different on earlier models.) I tried to remove the shrouds and got all four screws out but the plastic boat clips for the upper two are inaccessible and I wasn't willing to give them a yank given that the car is so new. All in all it isn't as hard as it sounds but it will slow you down. The hardest part was prying the rubber exhaust hangers off their mounts.Installing the hitch itself was pretty straightforward. The fit of the side wings around the vehicle frame was snug but not problematic. I used three stacks of boards to support the hitch while I nudged the bolt holes into alignment with a hand sledge. (I find a light tap with a heavy hammer works better than a big hit with a light one.) Once everything was lined up I was able to thread the bolts in by hand. I then pulled each bolt and dabbed on some Loctite blue and reinstalled. The last thing I did was to put a jack under the 2" square receiver and give it a little lift to maximize ground clearance. A quick spin with the torque wrench and done!The muffler went back in way easier than it came out mainly due to the ease with which the rubber hangers went back on their mounts which have a barbed design. The one thing I didn't have that I really wanted was a torque spec on the two bolts that hold the center and rear exhaust sections together. I just made them "real tite" in a shade tree mechanic kind of way.As heavy as it is, the packaging is inadequate but I suspect it's more to protect shipping facilitates and other packages in the system. The UPS driver spent five minutes in my driveway taping the box back together before he opened the door. There were no less than five bursts in the carton including the full length of one side and through the double-flap bottom. Fortunately, CURT is smart and packs the hardware and instructions inside the 2" receiver tube so everything was copacetic.
