Absolutely stunning sound
I have had old fashioned surround systems for years, you know the ones where you get a DVD player. But the last system I had wasn't sounding great, it kept cutting out. So I did quite a lot of research before settling on the Poseidon D80.The system comes in a smallish box, the instructions for putting it together are very clear. In fact, it is so easy to put together as the cables are plug in (none of this pressing down a small bit of plastic to feed a bit of wire in). The wires have labels on telling you which speaker they power - the speakers don't have labels on as they are all the same (with the exception of the sub woofer and the central speaker). The wires are really long.It took ten minutes at the very most for me to plug everything in and set it up. The central speaker can be plugged in to the TV either by the provided HDMI or the optical cable. The sub woofer sits at the back of the room, it is not connected to the sound bar by a wire, it is wireless, but the rear surround speakers need to be plugged into it. The sub woofer also needs to be plugged into the mains to power it. The sound bar connects pretty quickly to the sub woofer. The remote control is really easy to use (and comes with batteries). There is also an app which I would recommend you download. The app allows you to adjust bass/treble etc. The remote control does too, but the app allows you to control more features. So, everything was set up and I turned the TV on. I was so impressed by the sound. I swiped through channels, going from music channels, film channels and other such as BBC and ITV. Now, I have found that it depends on what the broadcast is transmitted in as to whether the surround works properly. Some programmes are transmitted in stereo, others are transmitted in multi channel. The sound is clear from all of the speakers, and it's great hearing things that you couldn't usually hear.I had started off by just putting the front speakers on the TV cabinet, and the rear at the side. I then did get speaker stands, and the sound has now never sounded better.I am so pleased I bought this system and would definitely recommend it.

Incredible value for money
It’s not often that a product offers both excellent quality alongside a low cost. Often, a low cost means you lose out somewhere.I’ve had surround sound systems before, and I’ve experienced top surround systems that cost 5 times the cost of this, but this system changes the game.Using some Dolby Atmos surround sound test videos (search them on You Tube to test your system), this performs as good as the systems that cost well over £2,000.I have a good ear for detailed sound and quality, and I’ve listened to some systems that claim to have the Dolby Atmos features, but they have constantly fallen short. Not this. This is absolutely spot on.Incredible sound, crystal clear surround, good powerful bass, and fantastic surround with true Dolby Atmos 7.1 effect. The packaging tells you the second you unbox it, that they have not cut corners anywhere. Quality packaging, simple instructions, and it really is a simple case of “plug-and-play”.The front centre speaker connects directly to your TV (I’d recommend using a high quality Digital Optical cable). The front surround speakers connect to the front centre speaker with a simple RCA cable to each. The subwoofer needs to be plugged in with its own power source (supplied), and is best placed near to where you sit (don’t put it at the front of you near the TV as many people make this mistake). The subwoofer connects via Bluetooth to the front centre speaker, so no worries about cables running from your TV across the floor or having to re-route them around the room. The rear speakers connect directly to the outputs on the subwoofer, so you can put them behind you as far apart as the room layout allows.Ideally have the front and rear surround speakers around head height, and evenly spaced so you sit pretty much central to them. The subwoofer comes already paired via Bluetooth to front centre speaker, so no messing around trying to set up.Just plug them in, and you’re done. And the sound?Simply fantastic. Especially for a system that costs a fraction of the others out there that have similar performance. You’d need to spend well over £1,000 to get anything better. The only downside?Your neighbours might not be so appreciative of the sound experience!Other than that - I can honestly say - it’s probably the only product that when you buy it, you hope it will be “ok”, and when you unpack it, set it up (literally takes minutes) and switch it on, you can’t fault it in any way.Especially with the fact that there’s no unsightly cables running everywhere. Just two at the front from the centre speaker and two at the back from the surround speaker (so position that near the back of the room and you’ll not see any cables). If you’re considering spending anywhere up to £500 on a surround system - this is the one to buy.Less money than some other much lesser products and delivers incredible TRUE Dolby Atmos surround. Can’t get better for less and can’t get even an equivalent for 3 times the price.Easy 5/5.

Subwoofer cutting out.
I recently bought a Poseidon D80 and I'm having some issues when watching Dolby Atmos content. It doesn't matter if it's Netflix or Amazon or even PS5, if it's Atmos content the subwoofer and the surround speakers keep cutting in and out. I tried everything now, re-paired it, reset it and I left the subwoofer very close to the soundbar bar as well, but no fix. It has a good sound overall but with this problem it makes it unusable, since I bought it to watch Atmos content

Best purchase of the year
I grabbed the Ultimia 7.1 surround sound system during a special deal, and I’m so glad I did. I’ve been using it with my Xbox, and when I tested it with the Dolby surround app, it truly blew my mind. The sound quality is incredible, offering deep, immersive audio that really enhances gaming and movie-watching experiences.Bluetooth pairing is fast and seamless, and the HDMI ARC feature is a nice bonus for connecting with my TV. The system is highly customisable with plenty of options on the remote, allowing me to fine-tune the sound to my liking.Watching home movies or playing games will never be the same again—this system brings a new level of immersion that makes everything feel more cinematic. Definitely a great investment if you want to elevate your audio experience!
