All Around Perfect Rotary Tool to Groom My Dog's Nails
I used a great rotary tool that was private labeled for Craftsman and used it for years to do a few random things, but mostly for trimming my dogs' nails. It was small, but not as thin as this Dremel, and not terribly loud. Sadly, nothing lasts forever and it just wore out. Since I don't subject a rotary tool to heavy duty projects, I didn't want to spend a fortune, and bought a full sized tool from another respected name in power tools. It was OK but was disappointing in tat it had a plastic housing, which may or may not account for the vibration that didn't appeal to my dog. She tolerated it, but I'm sure the extra vibration (and noise!!) wasn't appreciated our nail sessions. So, I ordered this and while none of the reviews mentioned dog's nails, I gave it a try. My first impression when I opened the box was, "Wow, this is really small...", but didn't let first impressions define it. When I tell my dog that we're going to do 'beautiful feet' and grab the bag of Rawble that is reserved just for this as her special treat between grooming paws, she goes right over to her pillow and sticks her paws out for me. The first thing I noticed is that while it was really small, it was really quiet, which she appreciates as much as I do. On the highest speed it creates enough power to grind her nails quickly with the included sanding drums, and I maintain control of the tool easily. All in all, I highly recommend this tool for light duty work and it would probably preform nicely for more delicate craft projects, too.

Precision, Comfort, and Control in One Tool
The Dremel 2050-15 Stylo+ Versatile Craft Tool is perfect for detailed, hands-on work. It’s lightweight, comfortable to hold, and offers excellent control, making it ideal for fine sanding, engraving, polishing, and cleanup on small projects. The variable speed is smooth and responsive, and the quiet operation makes it easy to work for longer periods without fatigue. It handles delicate materials beautifully while still having enough power for precision finishing. If you do detailed craft or resin work and need accuracy over brute force, this tool is a fantastic addition to your setup. Reliable, easy to use, and well worth it.

More Power Scotty!
The tool is terribly underpowered compared to a full sized Dremel, with that in mind it will work great for etching and using polishing points. As for cutting with an abrasive wheel, look else were. It has the same toque as the Harbor Freight version of this tool, but it is slimmer and fits the hand in more of a pencil like fashion. The power supply is detachable which is a plus. Wire brushes run good on this tool, but the larger polishing pad felts are a bit much and stall the tool easily. There is a bit adjustment going from a full sized Dremel to this. The one glaring issue I have with this is the miserable cord, it is permanently kinked and as stiff as a board and has a terrible habit of getting in the way. Really guys, you couldn't use flexible silicone jacketed cord.

One of our best purchases
I love this dremel. We wanted one light weight with a slim design that didn't make a lot of noise to use on our bird's nails. Most pet ones are junk. This has made it possible to trim our bird's nails regularly without accidentally cutting her quick. Even if you're not using it to grind bird's nails, this is an excellent tool.

It works well
I do a fair bit of carving and have used Dremels and Flexi Shafts for years. Holding a big Dremel for any length of time requires a lot of breaks due to hand cramping. Working with the Flexi shaft is better. but there's a stiffness to it, and if it's hanging, it tends to swing a bit which can throw off your pattern, not to mention the fact that as you adjust your hand to different angles, you sometimes exceed the bendability of the shaft and it will bind. So I got a Stylo. I think it's almost lighter than a pencil so no hand cramping. Actually it feels like a big pencil. Super good for fine detail work or removing material a little at a time. It will not handle heavy grinding or remove massive amounts of material all at once. it's not made for that. It does what it was designed to do very well. I love it.

Super!
Good quality. Lightweight, convenient, and very quiet. I'm very happy I bought this engraver. I'm not sure how it will perform in large-scale work, but it's perfect for making amulets.

At one point the Dremel Micro was the preferred model for dog nail trims, and indeed it was cordless (which may or may not be important) and had the wonderful LED light. It was also far more pricey, and it is now discontinued anyway. I had bought the Dremel Lite at first, since the Micro wasn't available anymore, but it was too bulky and heavy and it had only once functional speed setting. The Dremel Stylo+ is so much better, night and day! It's nice and small, lets me work closer to the paws, is way more comfortable for me... and most importantly it is way more comfortable for my dog! She is very sensitive about nail trims, it took as months of training to get to the point where I can trim her nails with her active cooperation and no restraint. But the difference in her tolerance of the Stylo+ compared to the Micro was immediately noticable. I was able to work longer in between giving her treats, and I think it's because this model is quieter and seems to vibrate less intensely! I also thought I wanted cordless, but it's actually nice not to have to worry about the charge, since it takes a while to do nail trims on my sensitive dog. Overall, cannot recommend enough! Very few people talk about this model for dog nail trims... it's just an absolute hidden gem. Hands down the model I recommend. Even over the Micro... the LED lamp is nice but a headlamp works well enough... and you can't beat the size and comfort of the Stylo+ for both me and my dog.

Use this quite a bit and am happy with its performance, handling and accessories.
