Great shin guards, but we ended up choosing a different style.
I ordered these for my son for MMA. There was never any question of buying anything but RDX. We have been using RDX for years and it's a brand we trust. It is also the brand redommended by his coaches. We did end up sending these back and choosing a other set. This is primarily because we sent a small instead of medium. If we had not had to do an exchange anyway, he would have kept them, but since we did, he choise another pair that suited him better. I am not rating down, because each set has its own advantages and a lot just boils down to personal preference. This set does the job it is meant to, without flaws, and that is usually enough for me to give give stars. We did choose these because they say completion approved. They are of course, but it turns out the RDX Aura Plus t - 17 are also competion approved, and I would really prefer my son wear the latter of the two in actual fight. The advantage to these shin guards is that they are very lightweight. They slip on easily like a pair of socks and you can forget they are there. These are also more ventilated and cooler. I think my sons primary issue is that is not a fan of neoprene, but these also fit lower than the pair the pair he ended up with and so have less protection to the knees. They have far less padding as well, though it isa dense padding. Both my son and I believe that these would be better suited to sparring, but everyone has their own preferences. As he is 16 and sparring with grown men who look double his weight, I prefer all the protection we can get.He ran around after getting these trying to get people to kick him. He says the padding is really brilliant. Before buying I strongly recommend checking photos of fighters wearing the guards. There is a massive difference in coverage, so get a good look at the different fits. If you want over the knee, chose a different style. If you want thin light an flexible below the knee guards, choose these. I will add that I think these will always be more difficult to pop. My son made someone else's shin guards burst last time. Well perhaps they should have gone RDX as well. But I do believe this design is less susceptible to blow out as it lets the air pass through.I recommend following the size chart carefully. My son really didn't believe he could be large to extra large when he is so much smaller than the men in his gym. He is between 5'10 and 5' 11" as he seems to get a different measurement with every doctor, but quite thin compared to the adults . He would have ordered a medium in the next guards as well, but they only had large. And it turns out large is the correct size for him. Follow the exact size recommended by RDX. I found it helpful to watch some videos on measuring for MMA shin guards as well.

Nice Fit
They are really good, nice fit, padding is ok, light sparring I haven't felt anything and don't hinder movement. the only issue is I bought these cos I hate straps and these are a good fit, don't move around, but they are a pain to put on, and a bigger pain to take off after training.
