SmittyBilt SRC SIDE ARMOR - SB76633

I was concerned about the install due to the many comments about poor fitment. The steps were very well packaged and protected. They are very heavy. Due to this I thought I was going to have trouble. I removed the four body mount nuts and used a jackstand to hold one end as close to the mounting point as possible. I threaded one nut on one end and then the same on the other side. Tightened the 2 nuts but not completely, then threaded the other 2 nuts. The mounting holes lined up perfectly and had no trouble tightening all 4 nuts. Repeated this procedure on the other side. A strong mount that looks good and is functional.

I was a little hesitant to buy this for my 08 Jeep Wrangler X because of some reviews saying it was complicated to install. I'm glad I didn't listen to those reviews. It fit my Jeep perfectly and I can tell you with great certainty it's on there really good and will withstand a lot of weight.My only problem installing was going to the store to get the right socket. I just didn't have a 16 socket. Once I did, it took me 30-35 minutes to install both sides. Granted I was hurrying bc I was running out of daylight. But I can't see it taking more than an hour tops.It looks great, helps me get in and out of my Jeep, and is built to last! I recommend this to anyone looking for their next upgrade.

Ok first things first this will make you Jeep look complete , even if you never plan on going off road this is a must have. Very easy to install only took about an hour if that. But have an extra set of hands and a good socket set, another plus would be a good file , passenger side was off just a hair and needed filed on one hole, took like 1 minutes of filing. No Big Deal. They are heavy but thats what you want in side armor. Came well packaged and protected and was very easy like I said if it had not been for the one hole being off it would have taken less then and hour, my Jeep is new so the nuts came right off , that was a plus. Deep socket set is a must have as when you go to install the nuts back on they are about 3 inches up inside the bracket. Great look and great product , I could not be happier with this , well OK if they were a bit lower in price but other then the price it cant be beat, and when compared with other side rails these are by far the best looking out there.

I ordered these on Saturday night and received them on Wednesday morning. They came packed very well and there was no damage to either.It took me 19 minutes, yes I timed my self, to install both sides by my self. It is literally 8 nuts you must remove and then reinstall. I laid under my truck and slid them into place. Using 1 hand I would support them and then using the other hand I would tighten the bolts. The only tools required are a 16 socket, an extension, and a ratchet.They seem very sturdy after the install. I was able to rock my jeep vigorously and they didn't budge. I then stepped on them and again they didn't bend or budge. I got a slight am out of flexing from them when I started jumping on them but I expected that as I weigh 240 pounds.All in all I am happy with the price and the fit and finish. They don't give me the look of completeness I was hoping for but it is one step closer. I think to really finish things off I will need rocker guards as well.

Difficult install? I honestly can't figure out what everyone is crying about. I managed to install these side steps BY MYSELF in about an hour, with hand tools, and they look awesome! Paper instructions are for sissies and guys named "Teddy", do a YouTube search for Smittybilt SRC and you'll find everything you need. Will the paint peel off in a month? Will they start rusting out in just a few weeks? Only time will tell, but they are certainly heavy and solid enough. The key to installing them on your own is jack stands. Jack stands... It's not rocket surgery. Seriously?! "Teddy"?! How do you sleep at night?

I was in the market for a set of armor that has a useable, functional step. This fit's the bill perfectly for me. My wife has a bad knee and needs a step to enter/exit my Jeep. I have a 2.5" lift with 35's. This bolts to the frame and is rock solid. Provides protection and is an excellent step as well. There are better stand alone rock guards out there but I needed a step as well. This is not my first set of these as I've used them on my last 3 jeeps. They help guard against door dings in parking lots as well. I highly recommend these if you're looking for rock guards with a functional step.

I gave them 1 star because it wouldn't take a zero. One side bolted up in 5 minutes, the other required extensive fabrication. Nothing about the driver side front mounting pad was right. I tried massaging the holes a bit with a die grinder, but ended up cutting the plate off and making a new one. I would NOT recommend these to anyone.

Perfect fit on my 2013 Jk 2 dr wrangler. Simple install, sturdy and attractive. Expect nothing less from Smittybilt products.

Strong set up. Mounts are very simple. Tuff coating. My 2012 Jeep Wrangler Sport feels more rigid. Good buy.

I purchased these for my 2009 Jeep Wrangler (2 door). I did some research beforehand and liked these. They fit perfectly and look great! They are very sturdy. Great product!We did have some issues fitting the drivers side to bolts at front, but after some adjusting, it went on fine.Christine

Perfect fit, took about 20 minutes to install, had to remove the rubicon rails first unfortunately, the bars don’t fit over the rails

Well packaged and well built. No chips in the finish. Some earlier reviews mention a poor fit, these bolted right up, everything lined up perfectly. The hardest part of the install was finding something to prop the rails up to the right height if you're installing by yourself. A deep socket also helps with the install as the bolt sticks out of the nut just enough to make it harder to use a normal socket.
