Q: These locate to the front of the engine bay at a very sheer angle, and nearly all others latch to the rear. Any negatives? Failures? Less open angle?

They do mount a little differently, however, it doesn't affect the function at all. Hood is open sufficiently for all but more extreme rear of engine bay access. Doubtful that hood prop is any better.

Q: Mine came in stuck uncompressed and I can't close them down, is this normal?

I received my hood lift, and it was uncompressed and work great. Maybe they got bent during shipping?

Q: Does anyone's hood shake / rattle / vibrate after fully opened.? I don't see this happen on install videos.

I haven't noticed. It's an aluminum hood. Others without the lift complain the hood flutters when it is down and running down the road.
