I purchased two of these, one for a college student I was teaching to solder and because it was on sale at the time I got one for me. I've had many irons over the years and some have been truly terrible, one ended up in the trash 4 hours after I purchased it at a popular retail store simply because it was so downright awful. With all that in mind, I was not expecting much here. I was VERY pleasantly surprised! These irons have turned out to be probably the best I have had. The temperature setting actually works, they are ergonomic and pleasant to hold and work with, the construction seems to be good quality, and the holder it comes with is on its own worth the price. The iron comes with three different tips in a small vinyl bag, and if you are like me and need a precise tip, just switch out the small tip that comes attached with the ultra-tiny one in the bag and you're gonna be happy. The only thing that isn't great in this kit is the little roll of solder itself. While it's not bad, it's just not what you want. I tried to use it just for fun, but eventually switched over to my rosin-core .8mm stuff, and man what a difference. If you want to solder with less frustration, just order some Towot tin lead rosin core .8mm solder, ASIN number B0943TPRXK. I would also recommend some tip-tinner, something I had never tried before, but now I won't want to solder without it .I ordered Thermaltronics tip tinner, ASIN number B00NS4J6BY. I know some people leave negative reviews of this item, but to be honest, I can't figure out why. Perhaps indeed they got a bad one, but the two that I got were top notch, and probably the finest little iron I've ever had. I can't speak to the longevity of the item as I have only just begun using them, but there is nothing about the construction that indicates that they should have a problem anytime soon. In short, awesome design, they appear to be decent quality of materials, comes with all the right tips, and comes with the nicest little holder you can ask for. Just buy some better solder and you should have a happy purchase here.

I am old timer solderer that has been using my dad’s soldering guns since I was a kid. Recently got into building guitar effect kits and wanted something more refined than the analog heat control of my old soldering station. I have done several pedal kits now with this soldering kit and I love it. It heats fast within a couple seconds. I love that I can fine tune temperature by to make it just right for whatever electronic component I am on. I would buy this again if it ever fails but so far it has done a lot of soldering without any problems.

I recently purchased this soldering iron kit for repairing wiring harnesses on an old work trailer, and I’m impressed with its value for the price. This isn’t a professional-grade setup, but for DIY enthusiasts or occasional auto repairs, it’s more than up to the task. The kit is packed with everything you need: a soldering iron, a multi-function stand with a sponge tray, sponge, tip cleaner, extra tips, and a roll of solder. Nothing felt lacking, and the included accessories made it easy to get started right away. The build quality is solid for the price, and the stand is particularly handy for keeping things organized during use. I used the iron to make 14 Western Union splices, and it performed flawlessly. The temperature adjustment is a standout feature, allowing more precision than cheaper units, though the controls are a bit quirky. When resetting the temperature, it starts at the highest setting and requires you to dial it back down, which can be mildly annoying. Once set, however, it holds steady and works great. I didn’t time the heat-up, but it was ready by the time I prepped my splices, so no complaints there. One minor gripe: the included solder isn’t lead-based, which wasn’t ideal for my needs. I’d recommend picking up a roll of 63/37 lead solder for smoother results. That said, the kit’s value shines through when you compare it to others in the same price range—many only include the iron itself, while this one offers a complete package.

This is the first soldering Iron Kit I have purchased. It is so nice to have a very strong holder to place my solderin iron while its still hot. I also like that the iron itself has a digitial readout that lets me both know and control the temperature. It came with extra solder, that I haven't used yet, as I still have a good deal of my own. however, it does come with rosin core solder. It comes with a few different heads that are easy to change. The sponge is stronger than I thought it would be. Above the sponge, which you have to moisten first, is what feels like steel wool, which I have never used for soldering before and was nice to clean the hot tip off from the solder. All in all for the price, I feel I got a good tool with great accessories. I have used the soldering iron a couple of times now and so far, so good.

Sweet. Heats up fast. Love the digital display. Buttons working great. Tips are probably cheap quality but it works for me.

this soldering iron is the best I have ever own. I highly recommend it the interchangeable tips are extremely useful and i was able to complete an extremely difficult soldering job with them. the digital temperature controls are a first for me, and the soldering iron shows you on the display the current temperature of the iron as it is heating up. the holder fits snugly to the shape of the iron handle and unlike other irons ive had it is more stable. The cleaning pads and steel wool are a nice extra and the iron even comes with a decent roll of thin solder wire. I highly recommend this tool I am very happy with it.

Ich liebe ihn! Kein Vergleich zum meinem alten Kolben mit 30 Watt. Der hier ist sofort heißt, lässt sich aufs Grad genug einstellen (mit Display) und auch der Halter ist schwer genug, dass ich nicht einen Moment an eine Rückgabe gedacht habe. Für unter 20 Euro ein absoluter NoBrainer. Würde ich immer wieder kaufen.

very good soldering iron for the price. as a newbie to soldering, i purchased this to help me change the analog stick on my xbox one controller. The tips seems much better quality than that in other products. Heats up very quick and very easy to change temperature. The cleaning station also included comes in handed to keep the tips in top working condition.

Der Lötkolben ist super. Ich habe jahrelange Erfahrung mit verschiedenen Lötkolben, und es liegen inzwischen auch einige davon in meiner Werkstatt herum. Ich löte sehr oft und dann auch lange, und ich kann sagen, mit diesem Lötkolben macht es richtig Spaß. Er entwickelt sich gerade zu meinem Favoriten. Er kommt so schnell auf Arbeitstemperatur, dass man ihn nach dem Einschalten nicht erst weglegen muss, bis er heiß genug ist. Diese Kaffeepause fällt jetzt allerdings leider weg :-). Der Lötkolben ist leicht und liegt gut in der Hand. Wer schon mal einige Stunden hintereinander gelötet hat, wird das zu schätzen wissen. Die Temperaturanzeige ist hilfreich, so kann man den Lötkolben gut für die jeweiligen Anforderungen einstellen. Ich erwarte dabei nicht, dass die Temperaturanzeige aufs Grad genau stimmt, und das ist auch gar nicht erforderlich. Ob ich mit 335 Grad oder 340 Grad löte, ist völlig egal. Die Taster für die Temperatureinstellung sowie der An/Aus Taster sind vernünftig angeordnet, so dass sie nicht im Weg sind. Überrascht war ich, dass es einem Hersteller tatsächlich gelungen ist, einen richtig guten Lötkolbenständer zu bauen! Er ist schwer genug, um den Lötkolben zu halten, denn er besteht aus solidem Stahl. Der Lötkolben kippt also nicht ständig nach hinten, wie ich es von diversen anderen Konstruktionen kenne. Zum Glück hat er auch keinen dieser unsäglichen Plastikaufnahmen, die nach kurzer Zeit verschmolzen sind. Es gibt eine Standby Funktion, die man aber deaktivieren kann. Das ist bei nicht allen Lötkolben möglich. Mir war das wichtig, da es mich unglaublich nervt, wenn sich der Lötkolben immer wieder nach einigen Minuten selbst abschaltet. Andere Leute legen vielleicht gerade auf dieses Abschalten Wert, und so ist es gut, dass man es individuell anpassen kann. Der Preis war mir erst einmal zweitrangig, ich wollte einfach einen guten Lötkolben haben. Dass er auch noch so günstig zu haben ist, rundet das positive Bild ab. Also klare Kaufempfehlung meinerseits.
