The media could not be loaded. A unique spice that is actually the stamen of the crocus flower. And the little threads (stamens) are used in culinary dishes and it only takes a few threads to do the job. When steeped in a little warm water it helps to spread the flavor to dishes better. Saffron goes good with my rice dishes as it has a sweet but earthy or grassy flavor.The box it comes in is very giftable and the glass bottle with the wooden stopper is elegant looking.If you are looking to gift this to someone who likes to cook with unique and special spices, this Divine Saffron in its gift box will make a very nice gift.

Although I love to cook dishes like paella, risotto, biryani, and jeweled rice that call for saffron, it is very difficult to source a quality saffron where I live. If I find it at all at a local grocery store, it's usually a couple of yellowish threads stuffed into a tiny baggie stuffed inside a spice jar--and offered at a high price.But THIS saffron is a whole other world! The precious saffron threads are beautiful--deep red and long. And the amount is generous, with quite a lot of saffron threads in the little glass jar. The scent hits your nose as soon as you open the lid--this is a fresh, quality spice. I tasted a tiny thread, and WOW, the flavor was very potent and lingered in my mouth for quite a few minutes. I so look forward to trying it out in both sweet and savory recipes.This beautiful product also comes in a lovely presentation that makes it very giftable for the cooks in your life. The box that holds it is lovely and sturdy, and the glass jar is safely cradled inside. The jar itself is even a thing of beauty, with a lovely wooden topper. This would make an impressive gift, for example, as part of a paella-themed gift basket. It would make a memorable host gift, as well. Highy recommended!

The presentation was wonderful, the glass container is nice but doesn’t seal. The spice has very little taste and what little it has tasted stale.I don’t recommend purchasing this product

This is absolutely wonderful saffron. It comes in an elegant glass tube with a sealed wooden top enclosed in a beautiful box. It would make a great gift for the cook in your life.The quality of saffron is very good. It has that wonderful aroma before you even open the jar. It emits that perfect bright yellow color when immersed in hot water to get it to bloom before adding to your recipe.I love using saffron in risotto, basmati rice and creamy polenta for the brilliant color, aroma and flavor. This saffron also works well in sweet dishes like cardamom rice pudding and saffron infused pomegranate creme brulee.This is a great value saffron and I'd buy this again.

Given its price, I always, always test saffron to make sure that it's not fake. This saffron passed two of the most dependable. It colors water slowly rather than quickly releasing dye (fake). And the shape of the stigma is correct, going from narrow to slightly flared. Negin is the highest grade of saffron, and while I'm not enough of an expert to confirm this, it is definitely of high quality. The scent is not dusty and very pleasant. The jar is sealed with a wooden stopper with a silicone ring. The saffron originates from Afghanistan and is packed in California. It comes in an attractive box and would make for a nice present.

Divine Saffron gift box. I was very surprised when I saw this spice in amazon at that price. This is a very expensive spice. Saying that, when I received it I was very impressed with the packaging, really nice and ready to give as a gift to any kitchen lover. The smell when I open it was nice, really nice. I haven’t use it yet but judging by the color and the smell, I doubted it that I will be disappointed. I will update if when I use it is not what should be.

I haven't used these yet, but they look great. The presentation is very pretty - would be great for gifting.The bottle is nice, too. It's a glass cylinder, with a wooden plug that has a gasket to make it air tight. It seems nice and secure, but not hard to open.I didn't weigh it, but it looks reasonably full in the jar. It also smells great.Look up how to use saffron threads if you haven't used them before - there are ways to make sure you're really getting all the aroma and flavor from them.
