VeeteeSuper 6 Golden Veg Rice Medley (Pack of 6)

Portion size is very small at a mere 8oz, my only gripe with this is the extremely bland flavor. If you have soy sauce lying around then maybe it will help, and I mean GOOD quality soy sauce like Kimlan or Kikkoman, and there are endless possibilities with what and how you can modify it to your taste. Other small issues I have regarding pkg: the cooking direction is hidden underneath the sticker but completely peels away instead of revealing the second layer so I ended up guessing and it blew a mess in the microwave. The other problem is the cover seal which is too tight and it is extremely hard to remove/open. Other than that, the content seems like a healthy meal.

I wasn't sure what to expect because I never had anything from this brand before. The package looks self-explanatory. This is a simple, vegetable rice dish for 1–2 people. I really like that there is a window so that you can see the actual contents!The rice and vegetable medley are mixed with Curcumin for a yellow color. My fingers were crossed for Saffron! The cost would be unreasonable if that were the case! While the rice is pleasant to look at, the veggies seem to look like they are overcooked. There isn't much life to them.Heating time is only 2 minutes. You can either pierce the packaging and microwave it, or you can stir-fry it. However, I am a bit confused by the part that says Do Not Reheat. Do not reheat in this container? Do not reheat leftovers? Do not reheat if your food isn't hot enough after 2 minutes? This is something I will have on my mind for a few days. I chose to pierce the packaging and give it 2 minutes in the microwave. There was a problem. I must be incredibly weak because I was unable to pull back any of the corners on the package. I tried, but I was also afraid of getting a steam burn. Eventually, I poked my scissors in the venting holes and cut the plastic off.It was hot and I was hungry. I hadn't eaten all day, and they arrived at the perfect time! I sat down to eat, and it looked and smelled good. I fluffed up the meal and took a bite. The rice is perfect! It is not mushy or too hard, it is firm and enjoyable. However, the flavor was okay, but is lacking spices and salt. I have had food that was so bland it was inedible, but this is a step above. I was able to taste carrots and pepper, and I think the broccoli. The ingredients state it has onion in it, but maybe a little more would help. I'm always a fan of garlic. It must be difficult to develop a dish that everyone would like.I ate this dish on its own, and I am full and satisfied. This rice dish would make a wonderful base to cook off of and make your own. Again, I don't think I ever found rice texture this enjoyable before. Adding extra vegetables and meat if you choose. Adding just a small amount of salt enhances the flavor.I would recommend this to others. It's perfect for campers! I think they are keeping the favor low, so you can make it yours. Ooo, this would be great in homemade chicken soup.

I was so disappointed at how tasteless this rice dish was. Definitely will not purchase again.
