Brittle, but for eight bucks, I'm happy with it
tl;dr: Brittle. Easy install. Data rates seem fine. Five stars for the price. This case comes in a box that fits like a skin over the case itself. The extras (a 300mm tip-to-tip USB cable, 2 little foam stick-on pads, and some paperwork) all come tucked into the case itself. Installation of my ssd drive could not have been easier.I opted for a clear case because I thought it would be neat to see the innards. It is. That said, I can tell the plastic is very brittle. One drop and this case IS going to shatter. Trust me. I would not be surprised if the black version is more impact resistant, but I am only speculating on that point. Were I to do it again, I would get the black one just to find out.Bottom line is, despite obviously being made of some pretty cheap, brittle plastic, the case works like a champ and did not seem to bottleneck transfer speeds in any way. For $8 at the time of this review, it's an easy five star.

Simple and works 👍🏼
Had no issues getting the case open. Dropped in a 1tb, PC immediately recognized it and all my data was accounted for.The blue light is bright! Lol. Not the best for a bedroom (woke up at 1am to a room filled with blue light). Not a complaint, just a caution on placement.

It does what it's supposed to do
There's nothing to say about this case except that it does what it's supposed to do at a decent price. I don't use them for hockey pucks or cup holders...all I want them to do is house 2.5 inch drives...full stop. The data cables work within the usual specifications. You insert the drive, snap it shut and on your way...no ceremony...no testimonials...just get on with it. I bought 2 of them.

Very tight
I bought two of these for my spare 2.5 drives. The drives were the old mechanical hard drives that were leftovers from updating a couple of spare machines to SSD's. It was an incredibly tight fit for a 9mm hard drive. Barely able to slide the 2 halves of the case together. The old mechanical drives have a hole in the case for air to equalize inside and provide that cushion of air for the read/write heads to float on the platters. This was so tight that I didnt think they would work without compromizing the drives.I expect that it would be perfectly ok for a SSD drives of thinner 7mm drives, but this just didnt work for my application and I returned them to Amazon for credit. That's why I like to buy from Amazon- they have a replacement or return policy that is very fair. Thanks

Works OK, but difficult at first to open the enclosure.
This review is for the POSUGEAR 2.5'' External Hard Drive Enclosure, 6Gbps USB C 3.1 Gen 2 to SATA III Tool-Free Clear External Hard Drive Case (ASIN B0C9TD9NVD). The enclosure works as it should, except for one thing: The enclosure was initially much harder to open than it should be, so one star off for 4/5 stars total. I could not open the enclosure at first, I was afraid of cracking the plastic. I sent a message to the seller asking for help. I received a prompt reply that included these words: "...our products need you to slide down hard to open..." So I tried to open the enclosure again but using more force. I found that if I pressed down firmly on the rear of the top piece of plastic in the area over the component side of the internal circuit board and slid the plastic cover forward at the same time, it would finally move then come off entirely. Be careful. I think if you push too hard, the sliding cover will crack. After the first time you successfully remove the cover, replace it and remove it again a few more times. It gets easier to remove with practice. Next time I will look for a metal drive enclosure that uses screws! But it will probably cost more.
