Pricey but works well
Just received this light but so far so good. There are a lot of comments about the switches being too complicated. I find the on/off and mode buttons well done, it takes a little practice but works great once you know how to use them. Battery life is ok as long as you aren’t on the turbo mode too much. One of the down sides of the turbo mode is it generates a significant amount of heat and the end of the light gets hot enough to make touching it uncomfortable if not burn you. You just have to be aware of this. The clip is lacking in that is not really designed for a ball cap attachment and generally serves as a pocket clip like that on a knife. But I have found that if I attach the light to the side of the ball cap visor and use the lanyard to secure the light in case it falls, I have no problem. In fact I fine this method very acceptable.I have no comment on longevity as it is still relatively new to me. The down side is if the battery fails, it is not replaceable like competing lights. Time will tell.It seems well made however if you drop this on a hard surface it probably will be damaged. Just be aware of this. We all know what dropping our cell phone will do.

A+ tac edc light
I do private security, this is now my standard EDC , use it everyday for the last 5 months. If your not used to tactical style lights, getting used to soft and Hard push button setups can be an adjustment but once you've used it it becomes fast and natural, metal clip is longer than expected but it also enable me to have it shoulder mounted to plate carriers for hands free coverage at night on the fly. A+ quality . Not a single hiccup or complaint with this light . 10/10 rating will buy this brand again in future.

Impressive power in a small size
This flashlight is crazy bright on the highest setting but keep in mind the battery runs down fast and it gets really hot if you leave it on for too long. The middle brightness levels are perfect for most situations and still give you plenty of light. I really like that it's rechargeable and the slim design makes it easy to carry in your pocket without it being bulky. Overall a solid little light.

Almost perfect EDC light
Absolutely fantastic light that's well worth your money. I've had this for quite some time and it's stood up to lots of abuse from me dropping it. The balance between throw and flood is fantastic and I've used it to go hiking in pitch black forests. I really like the OLED display with battery life. My only gripe is that the lockout mechanic for the light is convoluted; however they have improved this design in their newer models. I take it almost everywhere with me since it fits in the pocket quite well.

Excellent product.
Just received my flashlight today and absolutely love it. It took a little time to get adjusted to the settings and modes. After toggling different modes and the lock settings throughout the day finally got the hang of it as muscle memory kicked in and now can mostly operate it without looking at the screen or buttons. Turbo mode is extremely bright, strongly illuminating a broad area with long range. This is an EDC tool for those who can appreciate a well built device that has purposeful functionality in all areas of life (working on a project, searching for something, a guide on a dark pathway or even as an alert system). Excellent design and build. 5 stars all day long.

Good But Not Great
This review is for the Nitecore EDC27.(Read all the way through and see photos)The light is bright as people have commented in their reviews but it's only super bright in Turbo mode for 8 seconds. There is digital timer bar that appears on the screen and drains for 8 seconds until it runs out and then shuts it back down to the programmed light setting. There are two separate buttons that activate different light settings on the Nitecore. The first button, which is about 1/8th of an inch tall, is the on and off button and the lumens selecter. A full click of the button turns the light on and off. A half click of the button selects 4 different lumen settings. They are, 15, 65, 200 and 1000 lumens and each is displayed on the 1/4" x 1/2" led screen. The lumen settings do not appear to be accurate but are adequate to choose a light output setting. The same button also digitally locks the buttons so it's not activated in your pocket. To unlock, you depress the the button fully and quickly 3 times and then hold it until a unlock bar appears on the screen. Keep the button depressed until the unlock bar drains and the light comes on in the last preset mode. To re-lock the light, click the button 3 times quickly and hold it until you see a padlock appear on the display screen. There are two padlocks that will appear in succession. The first padlock has a number one on it and the second padlock has a number 2 on it. If you only want to lock the first button, rekease the button after the first padlock appears. If you want to lock both buttons, release after the second padlock appears. It definitely takes some practice to get the timing of the buttons down as it does to get the half clicking down as well. The second button is larger than the first but it's flush with the body of the flashlight so you can leave it on without it being activated in your pocket. Its made so you can use the light quickly without unlocking it.The second button is a two function button. Half press is 3000 lumens and full press is a super fast, and ultra bright, strobe. Like the first button, it takes some practice to get used to be able to use it properly. Both of the buttons have a soft click when you hit the half point where the separate functions are activated. As other reviewers have stated, the button functions are irritating. But I believe with practice it gets easier to manipulate them. This is a techy kind of light for us guys who like and collect flashlights. I do not recommend this for someone who just needs a flashlight. It's super bright and it's fun.At first I didn't like the light but after a few days it grew on me.The only real complaint, and it's kind of a big one, is the clear plastic that covers the display is soft and it dimpled when I had it clipped on my pocket next to my pocket knife. I'm assuming it pressed against my knife frame and damaged the display of the flashlight. For a hundred bucks I think it should have a better protector for the display. But it did work, the display is not damaged and the damage to the plastic does not obstruct the view of the display. I recommend not carrying the flashlight where the display will have any pressure against it with hard objects. The light is smaller than it appears on in the photos on Amazon. The dimensions are 5 3/8" long by 1 3/16" wide and it's 7/8" thick at the widest point. It's thinner towards the tip where the light emits. It's weighty for its size. It's 4.4 ounces which is over a quarter pound.Knowing what I know now, would I buy the light again? Maybe. I don't like that the display protector got damaged on the 3rd day I owned it just from carrying it in my pocket. Hopefully they will fix the problem if they have successive models. Is it worth a hundred bucks, probably not. They could probably sell it for sixty.I'm only giving it 3 stars because of the damage. I would give it 4 stars without damage.I hope this helps anyone thinking about making a purchase.

My first flat light and I like it
First one I ordered came and broken. The LED screen was not turning on replacement was very fast to this point. I’m very happy with the light. It’s one of my first flat lights that I purchased and I am excited to see how it all works out. I love the throw on this. I love the buttons and I love how skinny and compact it is. Let’s see how it works in use battery. Life is good so far.
