If you own a hot tub, you need to have a professional water quality kit like this
This water quality test kit is essential if you own a spa/ hot tub. This is the same kit that the professional pool/ spa/ hot tub technicians use. Proper Calcium Hardness, Alkalinity, oH, and Chlorine levels are critical to keeping you skin safe while enjoying your hot tub. It would cost a fortune to pay a company to adjust your hot tub water balance and sanitization each time you use your hot tub. With this kit, you can exactly know the what the water quality of your hot tub is. Then you can add whichever chemical is required to keep your hot tub water safe, clear, and sanitary. I have purchased a Taylor water quality kit for myself, and both of my sons as we all have hot tubs. The directions are easy to follow , step by step, and extremely accurate. Hot tub water quality changes with temperature, time, amount of use, both over and under use, and the constituent of your local water supply. My recommendation is that if you own a pool, spa, or hot tub, purchase and use this kit to ascertain your water is safe and sanitary for use. Avoid adverse skin and medical issues related to using a hot tub that is not well maintained.

Where do I start! GREAT GOOD WONDERFUL BEST
Was having a horribly frustrating problem with my pool chemistry - it hadn't any that made any sense. I bought this kit - STILL couldn't get it to make sense. Then I emailed Taylor. It was like emailing a good friend for expert advice. Fast response, great tips! Now, for the kit itself. I've read a lot of the other reviews. I'll ignore the guy who gave it one star because although he got the kit he ordered he decided later he should've ordered a different kit. I mean, if you ordered a blue shirt but decided you looked better in red, would you blame the shirt?!? Now, for the rest - this is a GREAT kit. It is detailed and accurate. It is NOT "magic". It will not say "if your pool registers x just add y". It WILL tell you how much chlorine you've got and what your pH is and total alkalinity and so on, just as it says it does. The little booklet is worth the price all by itself, if you've the patience to read it. It is NOT complicated, but neither is it "see Spot run". You'll need to be able to think in order to use it. But once you read it, you'll be able to keep your pool clean and blue and sanitized and perfect - or as close to perfect as they get! As for the actual testing - there is a color-coded chart at the top. All you need to do is follow each step as it is written. The colours are easy to see and to distinguish and you'll know just what's in your pool and the book will tell you just what your pool needs and if that isn't enough, an email to Taylor will get you great, friendly, immediate, HELPFUL advice! You can't go wrong with Taylor! I am now a customer for the life of my pool!

Essential and helpful especially for intelligent beginners
This is critical for initial (and ongoing) balancing of pool water. Strips are nowhere near as good but one gets what one pays for. If you’re just throwing up a little pool for a summer heat wave, this probably is not your kit. If you are serious about having a pool that will be up for the entire season or longer, this will be sufficient. If you’re in ground it’s even more important to have this information about your water balance. This kit is easy to use and very accurate. It has enough chemicals for many measurements for a season. I have in later years found I do not run out of test chems in a season due to knowing how my pool acts from the elements. Granted in my case I have a very consistent bather load (no kids, just me and my wife) so there are no wild swings in balance other than weather. Beginners advanced enough to consider cyanuric acid levels and their affects (alkalinity), and certainly in-grounders with tile grout, will appreciate this kit, tho beginners may find themselves testing CA more frequently in their first seasons until they discover a routine and chlorine type (di or tri) that delivers satisfactory results without running out of chems for the CA test, leading to the need for more of that chemical component. Don’t let that stop you from getting this kit! It’s a great kit and it’s better to know the complete water balance than to only know part of the picture (chlorine and pH) in a cheaper kit.

Great Kit!
I love this kit and purchase a new one every few years when the chemicals are expiring. The best part of this kit is the GUIDE! It was all the helpful information on the ranges each of your different levels should fall. The handy little spin guide also helps adjust based on temperature to help your water be crystal clear all year long. It is very durable and the outer container has been left out in a rainstorm without anything inside getting wet. It is a little bit more expensive than some kits but it has always worked well for me so I will keep going back to Taylor for all my chemical needs.
