spine-chilling account
Every second day, we get to hear of someone falling for online fraud. The person should consider himself lucky for only losing money. Once you read this book, you will know how much a criminal mind can stoop and the victim can lose a lot more than money… his life, too.The Jaipur Tinder Murder case shocked the daylights of the public, especially given the circumstances that led to the death of Dushyant Sharma. In 2018, Dushyant, who had been using a fake identity in the virtual dating world, fell prey to the scheming Priya Seth. While Priya was a veteran who used her charms to scam unsuspecting men for a long time, Dushyant was naïve and his libido overpowered grey matter in every aspect. He realised his folly only too late. Priya and her accomplices Dikshant and Lakshya had plotted to kidnap Dushyant in hopes of getting a hefty ransom. However, it all fell through when they realised Dushyant had faked it all. He didn’t have the money. Blinded by greed and fear, they killed him. However, in the process of evading arrest or getting spotted by the police, they made innumerable mistakes and were soon caught. While the case was a direct one, the author takes us through the complete investigation process that followed after the FIR was lodged when Dushyant first disappeared. It’s overwhelming and educative to learn about how criminals can escape using the loopholes in the law and this time the police were extra careful. Very often media trials bling judgements in favour of the criminals. However, this wasn’t the case here. The case that shook the country was taken to its logical end. There is also a lot of discussion on the mental state of the perps and the victim. Its interesting to understand the varying dynamics of the same and how they impacted each other. The author has raised pertinent points on the dangers of the virtual world where it doesn’t hurt to be careful. The book also throws light on several cases that were a precedent to the current one. I applaud the author for the detailed research and thank him for serving crucial information on a platter to the readers.A must-read for real-time crime aficionados.

Fabulously narrated true crime
Anirban Bhattacharya surpasses himself! The author narrates the story in such a way that it feels like we are watching a movie! He has explained the minute legal aspects of the case clearly and concisely. As we go through the pages the narrative style and the horrific nature of the crime and the coldbloodedness behind it all sent shivers down my spine! Kudos to the author!

A spine-chilling murder case, a sure page turner.
A spine-chilling murder case that had shock the nation. The book is a vivid description of how Priya Seth used social media to extort money from the innocents to fulfill her desire of living a lavish life. How the youths like Dushyant are falling in grips of glamorous social media sites and got trapped so easily, even got murdered for a crime they had not committed. A well-researched book with intelligent narrative. Author Anirban effortlessly showcased the psyche of the murderers and their greed for earning money. A must read.

Wow that’s reality lying in words
I literally dumped my head and engrossed myself reading about the henous crime which has happed in this time frame where there are online criminals emerging using a straight face. Quite compelling and bone chilling giving me goosebumps to have been used once upon to these apps just for the cause. In true perception, it’s a requirement and much needed elongated healthy wake up from the sleeping heads, buried in phones, without having to think who we right swipe and for what intentions to fulfill. If makes me more than just words to decipher this social modus operandi, bluffing ones own need and purpose to have a mate or bait, just for the sake of ruining someone and fulfilling one’s own.
