Very large book, love it
It was bigger than I thought it would be, but it was a welcome surprise. The print is very large and easy to read. The translation doesn’t feel clumsy or difficult to read aloud. Extremely happy with this!

Great Book But Big
I ordered this book in order to have a better translation of the fixed parts of the Divine Office than what I had before. It is indeed a high quality Horologion that also contains a handful of canons and akathists and very limited variable parts from the Triodion, Pentecostarion, Menaion, and the weekday services designed for use at the Divine Liturgy, Typica, and the hours of the Daily Cycle other than Vespers and Matins, whose variable parts are very long as opposed to all the other services, whose variable parts are short. This book is great and everything I expected it to be-except that it is huge! The description says that the book is 5x8 when really it is more or less 8.5x11. As it turns out, it is the size that is listed on the publisher's website and Amazon simply lists the wrong size. Not exactly something portable, but still very valuable-especially for the money.

Great Orthodox Book of Hours
I have been searching for a while for a 'complete' book of the hours for Orthodox Christians. This one is by far one of the best i have had the chance to use and read. It uses some older English words, and if some words seem too archaic well then i suggest do what i did, look up the unknown word and expand your vocabulary. Also another Great selling point is that out of all of the Horologion's that i have looked into acquiring this one is the most inexpensive and easy to navigate through; you do not need a degree to understand its layout!!!

This is now my favorite prayer book
This is now my favorite prayer book. It is complete and clear. There are no allusions to prayers or hymns with ". . . " after them so that you don't know what else they are supposed to say. I simply love this book. It is the item I would rescue first from a burning house.

excellent resource
I downloaded a sample before I bought this and was very impressed. I do not like "modern english" versions of the prayers, so this is perfect. I bought the full version and this is well worth the price. The menaion material is not extensive, but most printed editions of Horologion do not have a lot either. For what it is, it is very nice.

An Essential for all Orthodox Christians
The Horologion and The Jordanville Psalter were the first two books that my Spiritual Father made sure that I had.Since it is a bulky book, I just purchased the Kindle edition -- much easier to take along with you when traveling!

Great book...confusing instructions
The translation and prayers are gorgeous. (Be forewarned that it uses Elizabethan English. That is not a criticism, but it is worth knowing.)The instructions can be confusing at times, but this is unlikely to be a problem for 99% of people who just want to use it casually.

The only prayer tool you'll need!
If this book does not contain a specific prayer -- then you don't need to be praying it! Easy to follow format which makes praying a breeze!

A beautiful and useful book
These kinds of resources can be hard to find/source, especially from here in Canada. This is a lovely volume, and fills a huge need :) Thank you!

The gold standard in Orthodox Horologion for Slavic use
I have a copy at home and two copies in church. The English is a good translation. The rubrics are helpful. The lack of abbreviation I appreciate. The best book for Russian Orthodox use. The quality of print, production and finish is first class. My first copy is more than a decade old, used daily and is still going strong. I have added the Kindle edition to my new Kindle Paperwhite for the sheer convenience.

Valuable Addition to Our Prayer Corner
Wonderful! What's not to like? For any Orthodox who spend a lot of time in their prayer corners or home churches, this is a valuable resource. We live very far away from an Orthodox Church and rely heavily on readers' services and our own daily prayers. This is a great addition. And it's a beautiful book, as well.

The Horologion or, from Slavonic, the Chasoslov
This book provides, in my opinion, the best available English language version of the services of the Orthodox Christian Church. It is, as its title indicates, very complete and, for example, gives the variations of the basic services that apply during the period of the Great Fast that precedes Easter. It is, however, and this is not a criticism, neither daily prayer book for lay persons - it is too big and heavy and does not contain all the normal morning and evening prayers - nor is it intended to be a priest's manual of services, it is not, in any case, a convenient size for that. Those books are separately available. The Unabbreviated Horologion is, however, excellent as what I would describe as a prayer desk service book that gives the fixed framework of all the weekday and Sunday services of the Orthodox Church, to which may easily be added the parts of the services that vary according to the seasonal and other cycles.I purchased the Kindle edition, since my hardback copy was, at the time, in a distant country and inaccessible to me.I gave the Kindle edition only four stars because of the irritating limit, which is there for understandable, but in my case unexpected, copyright reasons, on the number of pages that may be copied from it for private use. (It is often convenient to have some brief extracts rather than the entire 408 pages). The hardcover edition would have five stars.
