Old GSD really liked this wet food BBQ flavor
My late GSD like this canned wet BBQ-flavor food. She was an unweight, 8+yo senior rescue who had a somewhat picky appetite who didn't much like kibble or hard foods, possibly because of her teeth/gums. I'd mix this BBQ with other brands of pates and hand-feed her. She deserved being treated like a queen after her ordeal. We had only 4 years or so with her, and she's over the Rainbow Bridge now...

Best looking dog food I have served
I ordered this Halo Elevate Wet Dog Food, Grain Free, Smoky BBQ Glazed Chicken Stew with White Potatoes & Carrots, 12.7oz (Pack of 6) for my dogs. And I can say that my dogs loved it. I usually give my dogs wet food on top of the regular dog food, about twice a week. It was the 4th of July week, and the dogs were kind of anxious and jumpy, so I thought I'd treat them. They love it...The food has a nice appearance compared to other top named brand of wet food that I've bought before. The amount of sauce is good and plentiful with my dogs' dry kibble mix, The ingredients appear to be high quality, and I felt good about serving this to my dog. As soon as I opened the can, my little dogs and even the cats were sniffing the air by the aroma and quickly started wagging their tails....Once i placed the food on the ground, they dug into this July feast. The food seemed to be a hit, so I was happy about that. There were some big chunks of chicken in here. I had to break up some pieces when serving this as a topper/mixer because even the cats were wanting some of this Halo food. This is a stew style dog food and its very wet food, I guess because its stew. The quality appears to be really good, and I know my dogs will be sad when it's all gone. This pack of 6 cans is enough to last my dog about 2 weeks, since I mostly use it as a topper, but even so, $24 is a touch steep for every-day food. However, my dog REALLY likes it, and the ingredients used seem premium and well thought out.Pretty good, but pricey!...Recommend a 5 star!!

We Use It On Rotation To Give Morning Supplements
This came from the vendor shrink wrap sealed in a cardboard carrier. The cans had a best by date “April 2025” easy to see. This is fairly liquid & doesn’t have the most pleasant smell — somewhat acrid. However our doggy does like it. Since it is a bit on the pricey side, we just use a can for about a week mixing into our dog’s morning dry powder supplement. Then we rotate thru several other products to mix the supplement so she doesn’t get bored. About every three weeks she gets this for about a week, in several tablespoons per morning portions. This seems to keep good covered over with plastic in the refrigerator in between morning sessions. It’s okay, but we likely will not order it again, it just isn’t that special.

Different Flavor Received, Dogs Loved It
I ordered the glazed chicken but what I received was “Homestyle Bone-In Stew, Chicken Drumette Stew”. I indicate this to say that I am not reviewing any of the listed foods. As for the food that I received, well, my dogs loved it. I have 3 miniature poodles and I give canned food in addition to dry food. Of the 3 miniature poodles that I have, one will eat anything that is put in front of her, no questions asked, one will eat most anything but from time to time she finds things that she will walk away from and one of them is SUPER picky and will walk away from anything that isn’t exactly to his liking. All three of my poodles dug in and licked the bowl and from my picky eater, that is high praise indeed. When I put the food in their bowls, I noticed right away that there were real meat chunks. Generally, the foods that I get are a pate and this is a stew. I wasn’t thrilled with the amount of liquid which for me means that I’m paying for more water than food. That said, the liquid was thick and not just water and it did look and smell very appetizing. I don’t intend to eat dog food, but if I did this might be a great one to try just based on the look and smell. Nope, still not going to be eating dog food myself. No worries. Anyway, Halo is a brand that I have come to trust in my dog’s diet and this food did not disappoint. Great ingredients and my dogs love it. That makes me happy!
