It will boost your soul and spirits, fill your heart with longing and happiness & will take you back to the time when life was simpler and fun. It is a collection of 22 short stories told by Ajji to her grandchildren Raghu, Meenu,Anand, Krishna and their neighbourhood friends. The grandchildren come to their grandparents place during their summer vacations. Their grandparents house is away from the hustle-bustle of the city life; surrounded by greenery and open field. The children however are most excited about the stories that Ajji is going to tell them during their stay with her. The stories told by the grandmother are short & sweet moral stories. These stories deal on wide variety of topics such as importance of: 📍 hard work &honesty 📍being down to earth, being helpful & humble & content & loyal 📍having presence of mind 📍loving people unconditionally All the stories will fill you up with hope and that feeling of content that you used to feel if your grandparents also told you stories. The narration is very effective as you will be able to retain the stories for a long time. The tone is full of warmth. The book is woven in a way to make you feel nostalgic.The book brought back strong memories of my childhood when my brother & me used to travel to my native place with our parents to meet our grandparents during summer & winter breaks. Those memories were overwhelming. The smile that used to break on my Amma's & Dadaji's face are images that I would cherish for my lifetime. It's a shame that I lost them so early. This was my first Sudha Murty book & I am so glad that I picked up her book. It brought me out of my reading slump of 2 long months. It's a very sweet & a humble book. Do give it a read. You will not at all be disappointed.

Good stories

Thank you Smt Sudha murti for presenting the book. The stories are so interesting that my son finished half the book in one day only. A good book for 7-8 year old kid with an insight to the simple life of village and life lessons to the kids

My 8 yo girl quiet enjoyed this book. She finishes her bedtime routine early so that she could read the book. The book also increased her reading pace. She got the essence of good olden days in the premise and moral at the end of each funny story. It takes us adults to our childhood when every kid eagerly waited to spend the summer vacation with our grand parents!

If you are from India, have kids, and miss your grandmothers storytelling, this book is for you. The stories and the storytelling style are up for read aloud or to be read by themselves. Sudha Murty’s simple language and easy style kept my seven year old captivated for a long time. We read a few stories aloud then she started reading aloud to me. I have since purchased other books by the author as well. Enjoy the book! Slme words may need explaining to those not familiar with Indian lifestyle.
