Nothing wrong with an Alox Bantam!
I know there are a lot of folks who argue the Bantam is the best of the Victorinox SAKs, but that seems to be a superlative that is better determined by each individual based on the mission being addressed. What I think is irrefutable is the fact that the Alox Bantam is a delightful knife in just about any pocket. It's so slim; its engineering and assembly speak elegant utility in a way that calls the Bauhaus to mind. I've used one in C-Suite meetings and deep in the desert, and it was perfectly in place in both - as well as every place it's been needed in between.I bought this new one last night on a lark (delivered today - yay, Amazon!) for no reason other than I liked it so well and wanted another color (my first one is blue) - oh, and it was cheap!Everyone knows how great these are at slicing (owing to the superslim blades). The Bantam's five-in-one blade/tool turns out to be really solidly useful, too: I find myself using it all the time. And the Alox scales on a Bantam (while they mean no toothpick/tweezers or key ring) are durable (the plastic ones scratch so easily; no biggie but they don't carry the same pride of ownership) and are so aesthetically pleasing that it's difficult to describe: slim, grippy elegance; they'll have anyone fidgeting with the little pocket jewelry. Everyone knows the downsides of Victorinox knives: the steel isn't the most hardcore (which means it's easy to resharpen) and they're not the most durable. Okay, don't abuse them and keep them sharp, and they'll give you years of happy service - and show you to be a classy individual!

Thin and light, surprisingly stout for real world daily use
The (thin) best example (thin) of (thin) a sturdy (thin) tool in a diminutive (thin) frame . Unlike toy sized pocket folding blades, this example retains a comprehensive able sized blade and sheaths a multi use cap lifter without penalty. Capable of gnawing open a can, working a flat screw, jambed into a Philips screw and pulling on wire insulation... seamlessly. If you wear a suit or are gifting to a frequent suit wearer this a bang on fitting.

Clean function in a small package
I have carried a pocket knife for 60 years and I am always looking for the ideal "Every Day Carry" knife. This knife puts the most usefulness in the lightest, thinnest, easiest to carry, package that I have found so far. I can carry it in the watch pocket on my jeans. It does not make a scary statement when I get it out in polite company to open one of today's ridiculously difficult and wasteful bubble packages. For being so small and light it is solidly built. It is big enough to be a useful tool in my hand.I want a sharp blade, but also something to do the jobs my thin fingernails are not up to. My need for a can opener/bottle opener is minimal, but I find the utility blade has many uses for scraping and prying to save the edge on the main blade. My only complaint is that the utility blade comes with all its sharp edges nicely smoothed off. I used a metal file to square of the end of the screwdriver and can opener edges to make them more useful. This is a small light knife I keep razor sharp. I often augment it by also carrying a folding utility knife with a replaceable blade (Workpro) when I anticipate any serious DYI knife work. This is so easy to carry I can carry both when I need. I have given up finding the perfect "always in my pocket" small light big heavy duty knife suitable for both delicate tasks and cutting up a carpet. I quite like the "functional tool" statement it makes in contrast to the current crop of useless "tactical survival" knives that look like a cross between a spaceship and a shark and are a waste of pocket space to carry.

Surprisingly useful little knife
I was surprised, and a little dismayed, with how thin this knife is. It’s nearly as thin as a stick of gum. I nearly returned it, because I didn’t really think I would like it so thin.I’m glad I kept it! It is so thin that it doesn’t make a bulge in the pocket, but has a reasonably sized blade that is very useful for most every day tasks, and is small and attractive enough that anyone in an office isn’t going to be disturbed by it being used. The combo tool takes care of so many different things. No, it’s not as tough or heavy duty as the 93mm Alox knives. If you need a bigger, tougher tool, carry that one (maybe at the same time!). If you need a little knife that won’t weigh down your pants or skirt, but needs to really be able to cut up or peel a piece of fruit, split a sandwich, open a bag of dog food, sharpen a pencil, tighten a screw, open a bottle of soda or beer, trim a string or open the mail, this one will handle it and look good doing it.

Great little knife.
This knife is perfect for the minimalist. Its got enough tools to get you buy and it's very thin and light. Don't even feel it in your pocket and it's very well made. The blade and combination tool is all most guys need for edc. The combo tool combines the screwdriver, can opener, pop bottle opener and wire stripper into one tool. Keeping this knife ultra thin. Perfect for a tiny pocket organizer or even slipping it into a wallet. When ya need it, ya got it. Great minimalist Swiss Army knife. Love the feel of the Alox handle as well. Get it if you want a small, light, thin and super handy little knife. Ty
