Important concepts but of little practical use
The author has given some relevant insight to companies operating into consumer segment wherein there is some visibility and awareness among consumers, and to spot such upcoming companies in advance for making enormous profit. However I belief that such opportunity rarely exist today , either the promoters or initial investors will sale their stakes at much higher premier when selling to normal investors, the days of getting such companies at an attractive valuations are extremely remote, also existing companies having promise are already quoting at substantial premium offering little scope to investors to make huge profits. The book has a passing reference of an Indian Company- Coffee day, but we all know none of common investors made any money (in fact made losses), also company is posting huge losses since available records, don't know how such mentioned promising companies can ever deliver even average return to common investors. Also of my personal experience , consumer space companies specially dealing in food items are facing huge challenge from private/small scale local companies capturing local markets.Though the book is interesting for understanding certain concepts of investing, practically ,for an average common investors, to put the same to effective use is almost non existence.
