Carrera GO!!! Electric Powered Slot Car Racing Kids Toy Race Track Set 1:43 Scale, NASCAR Talladega Competition

I bought this for my son on his eight birthday. We played it all day and he was thrilled with it. I had a slot car race set when I was a kid, a nice one, and this one is much, much better. The cars got better after using them for an hour or so. I think they had kind of a break in period. They began to hug the track even better than at the start. It has a neat feature on the hand control, it's a removable clip that acts as a governor. When the clip is on it keeps max speed to 70% which is still fast. With the clip in I found I still had to slow down for curves. With the clip out the car is really fast and it requires more skill to race well and remain on the track. But whether the clip is in or out there is the turbo boost button which is so much fun, works very well, and makes the cars just fly. But yet, you can still maintain control with proper bursts of turbo at the right moments. The cars will fly off the track if you give it too much speed but that is a big part of the fun. We laughed often when we'd crash at the intersection or fly off the track. Also the looped track (we always called it loopty-loop) works great. The banked curve works great. Both require additional skill but not too much for an 8 year old. I'm very impressed with the fit and finish. Assembly is easy. Track pieces fit tightly together. Nothing slips apart or moves around while racing. I'm impressed with this toy. I'm planning to buy extension components for Christmas gifts.

The media could not be loaded. I bought for my 9 and 11 year old boys.I did not help them set it up. I gave it to them and said "figure it out".It took them a little time, but they figured it out. They grabbed the screw driver necessary and did everything on their own.They haven't stopped playing with it for 8+ hours. It's like Christmas morning over here.It does take some practice, as you can see. The cars will fly off the track if you take the turns too quickly. It won't make the round about if you're going too slow.It keeps them engaged since it isn't so easy to use. I do not regret the purchase.Only complaintThe cars aren't made very durable. A piece of the Mario car has already broken off. The contact with the track does act finicky at times as well.

This thing is great and high quality. The kids love it and you can get replacement parts like it's meant to last, which is rare nowadays.

This was a Christmas gift for my kids....and maybe me :)Took me back to my childhood! lots of fun. Very fast and does require some skill to be able to keep the cars on the track. The kids loved the speed, the challenge, and obviously the epic crashes.

The media could not be loaded. I remember my older brother having carrera and enjoying it with him. This Mario Kart carerra is perfect for my 10year autistic son, who loves playing Mario Kart on the Switch with me, and this is now also another way of us being able to play together!! Him and I are getting the hang of it! It's pretty durable, comes with Mario and Luigi (i bought Yoshi in addition as he LOVES Yoshi the most).The essambley instructions are a bit confusing, only a piece of paper and it doesn't really make it 100% clear on some parts where to put them together, but I figured it out nevertheless! It is functioning properly and worth the money spent!! We will get lots of play time out of it. Looking into buying the add on tracks in addition to this!

My son played 4 or 5 times and now the cars doesn't have enough power to do de loop, i don't know what can be wrong.

Very nice slot car track and cars. This particular track is very challenging with the elevated curve. That said my six year old grandson mastered it. I cannot compete. Easy assembly and seems to be of good quality. I would spring for the extra track that is available to get rid of the elevated curve. Four stars as guard rails do not want to stay on and a bit flimsy.
