Buy Cudy- works great- easy setup
Easy install and work great.Installed on back side of house and now I have Wi-Fi in outdoor kitchen and inside my shop. I had installed a different name brand and more expensive but had problems with extender and support. I sent that one back for refund. Get the Cudy and eliminate troubles.

Rock-Solid Outdoor WiFi 6 Performance — Excellent Coverage and Flexibility
This Cudy AX3000 Outdoor Access Point is outstanding. Setup was smooth, and the performance has been flawless. I'm using it to extend WiFi across my backyard and garage, and the coverage is incredibly strong and stable — no more dead zones. The IP65 weatherproof housing is built tough, and I love the flexibility with PoE power and multiple operating modes. It’s more than just an access point — it can function as a router, extender, or mesh node depending on your needs. Signal strength and speed are top-tier thanks to the high-gain antennas and WiFi 6 support. Highly recommend for anyone needing reliable outdoor connectivity.

water resistant? I am not convinced.
The router works pretty well.. but.... I am suspicious of the antenna mounts. They don't seem very strong, and I would be really surprised if they are really "water resistant". I think I will run a bead of caulk around them before the first time they are exposed to rain.. but other than that, it seems to work. I read that it supports OpenWRT, but I haven't tried it yet.

Powerful Coverage for Large Areas, Overkill for Average Home.
I got the AX3000 CUDY Outdoor Access Point/Extender to test, and the first thing I noticed is that it's fairly large, measuring 14 inches tall with the antennas installed, 4 inches wide, and 2 inches thick. Given that it's designed for outdoor use, the size isn't surprising, and it's built quite well. There is a sealed compartment that hides the single RJ45 port. It also comes with mounting hardware (screws and a clamp) to attach it to a wall or pole. The access point is powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE) and includes a PoE adapter. Since it's meant for outdoor use, this setup works fine and requires one less wire. However, if you plan to use it in a different setup or need an extra RJ45 port, you might require a PoE switch. This access point supports mesh networking, so if you have a CUDY router, you can extend your network coverage even further. It also supports Wi-Fi 6 (802.11AX), providing better data rates and range, as long as you have a compatible AX receiver/device to take advantage of the full speed of Wi-Fi 6. The two antennas are removable, giving you the option to upgrade to higher-powered antennas if needed, though I haven’t tested this feature. As for its functionality, it works well. I don’t own any other CUDY products, so I set up the access point as an extender, and it effectively increased my Wi-Fi range. I mounted it in my garage, and I was able to get a strong signal even a block away (400–500 feet). I’m confident I could walk another block and still get a usable signal, as long as there are no major obstacles blocking it.Overall, the CUDY AX3000 access point is a solid device for improving network coverage. However, for the average home, it might be overkill compared to a standard mesh setup, unless you have a large property like a farm or estate. It’s best suited for commercial use when paired with a CUDY or high-end router and high-speed internet. Since I live in California, where we mostly get sunshine and not much rain or snow, I can't fully comment on its IP65 weatherproof rating. That said, the unit feels well-built and should withstand most weather conditions.

Powerful. OpenWRT compatible!
This is a fantastic outdoor WiFI AP. It has lightning protection and excellent range. The firmware is easy enough to configure. I prefer to load OpenWRT and it is compatible! You will need to go to the manufactures website to download an unlocked firmware version and then load the latest OpenWRT. I’m so happy they provided this!

Good outdoor AP
Good outdoor AP with Wifi 6. You can also upgrade the antennas if you want some directional ones. The software was easy enough to set up, and the kit comes with the POE injector.

Powerful Wi-Fi Access Point
I plugged it in and used Firefox to configure as Edge didn't connect to the configuration settings. NOTE: The directions provide a URL (that doesn't work) however If you leave off the "ap" in the URL You'll be able to connect and configure. There is one RJ45 port that is underneath the bottom portion of the front cover plate.Connected this to my 3 node mesh system and it hasn't impacted my download or upload speeds on my mesh nodes, which I'm glad they are working together seamlessly.Installed this outside and it's working well to extend my internet further.• I needed to use the included POE injector to power AP. However the POE injector is not waterproof. So you would need to protect it, if it's not secured from the elements.• If you are not using the LAN port on the injector then recommend securely covering this port.I kept the SSID’s separate to test the AP to determine if it’s negatively impacted my mesh performance. There wasn't a negative impact to my mesh systems speed or performance… test results are below. My Mesh nodes speeds with the Cudy connected are:5.0 GHz 597 (Dl) 23.8 (Up)2.4 GHz 86.2 (Dl) 23.9 (Up)When connecting directly to the Cudy AP my speeds are:5.0 GHz 381 (Dl) 23.9 (Up)2.4 GHz 62.2 (Dl) 24 (Up)It's not that bad especially for being an access point off a mess system.Personally would have liked to have the ability to use a wall style plug without the need for a POE injector since I am not using the LAN port. I tried to be creative with installing it against a flat wall, and need to look for a more viable solution, but in the meantime it works.
