Improved Design
The media could not be loaded. I had an earlier version of the Tomlov microscope that had limitations mainly due to the small stand it was attached to. The small stand prevented me from working on larger projects because I couldn’t bring the microscope over the areas I needed to see. I tried a makeshift approach and bought a third party adjustable tablet holder with a movable arm, but focusing and re-focusing became an issue every time I moved the arm around. I stopped using the previous version because of the lack of consistency in being able to obtain a clear view of my work. This new improved design has solved the issues I had with the previous setup. The arm design creates a very steady movable microscope that is able to cover a large area. I noticed the microscope still has the ability to be adjusted up and down close to where it mounts to the arm as well as tilt slightly if needed. There is also an auto-focus button on the scope that allows for quick re-focusing after the arm has been moved. The body improvements are a game-changer. From being able to read the tiny part numbers to checking over solder joints, this microscope is amazing. I would highly recommend this product for those who do specialized work on projects that require the use of magnification.

works well, focusing from the remote control is convenient,

Best unit I've used, but could use improvement
This is a really nice unit. Auto focus works perfectly, the upgraded stand work better than last gen, and no dumb 3d gimmic. I do have a couple complaints though, the height adjustment knob is still almost unusable due to how cheap it is, whole the base is another more stable it can still sake another more than I like (again thanks to that cheap height adjustment system), it uses hdmi mini for video out (very fragile compared to something like displayport mini), and the light they added requires a full ac plug to use. That last one is particularly annoying, it's a led ringlight that very easily could have been powered with usb, you could have easily make it usb and just given us a powerbrick with two usb ports. I get that the original design didn't work as well with just the built in led's and you had to add this but I don't understand why you did it in the most inconvenient way. Aside from that I'd say this is probably the best unit on the market at this price, so I still heavily recommend it to anyone looking for an upgrade, you likely won't need more than this.

Great for soldering
The arm makes the scope much more stable than ones ive used in the past. This one is rock solid and the screen is super clear. It helped me fix a solder bridge right after getting it. The screen is nice and big, but its not too big to the point where you feel like its in the way.

Overpriced. Terribly designed. Waste of money.
I hate to say it, but this thing is bad. Not terrible. The autofocus feature is very useful and good. The camera quality is excellent. The screen image is very good. Even the mat they give you is excellent. So I did enjoy using it, but not a value for the money at all. For something of this caliber, I would expect much better engineering and design of the simple things. Why have such a good microscope with such a good screen and then completely slack at the menu interface? Honest to god, the menu and settings look like a Nokia cell phone design of 2001. Not even kidding. Hilariously outdated, clumsy, and nonsensical. Would be a very cheap fix to incorporate a quality interface that is simple and intuitive. The other thing that was terribly frustrating and one thing I just could not for the life of me get over was the ring light. First of all, the entire design of it is hideous. It has weak thin rubber “clamps” that just have to clamp down weakly on the base of the lens and hang on for dear life. How in the world did they not even design anything on the entire $300 microscope to hold that light in place properly? This is mind boggling to me. It is such an incredible oversight and just lazy. The ring light does not even attach like it belongs to the rest of the micropscope, it feels like it was crafted in a workshop by a 5th grader at summer camp. Just actually blows my mind, why they just didn’t incorporate a ring light into a $300 microscope. The most important thing for a microscope besides the lens quality is lighting. And this light is so bad, that I just cannot help but return it. Just brutally honest, but I am so puzzled and perplexed by how ungodly awful the design of the ring light was. They made it so complicated when it did not need to be at all, and so in the way. Takes it from a 5 star microscope review, to a 2 star. That is how bad the design of n the lighting is and how furious it made me trying to mess around with it.

Great for electronics
Awesome for electronics work! The autofocus is nice to have also. The ring light mount could be sturdier though.

Game changer!
As an Hobbyist, I have spent more than my share of money on the, "That should help." items out there for magnification. There are even some things in my "Box of shame," from reputable websites. Yes, you have one too. I feel your pain every time I think about the wasted money. This microscope has stopped my search! Easy to set-up, easy to configure and you don't need to purchase anything else to take really good quality videos of your work because it's all in the box. Haven't tried the SD card that came with it because Windows recognized the microscope right away and with the camera app included with Windows, it shows right up on my PC monitor.CONS: The included tools were kind of hard to find, in fact, they are still MIA. I think my Cat took them not knowing that Guys have Allen wrenches stashed in multiple locations at all times.OVERALL: Wish I had this before. Wasted time, money but mostly time. This one is the real deal. If you're on the fence. get it.
