Good, but no instructions
Could have been the ideal phone for pensioners (and anybody elese for that matter). Big buttons, large display for those with dodgy eyesight, as loud as you need or want, comfortable in the hand, and generally easy to set up without instructions for those familiar with setting up phones. But no wonder the item page says, that the product is "Frequently returned."It's slightly unnerving when you first plug it in, especially if you're setting up three in the same room. Out of the box it's set up to max volume and for a light to flash when receiving a call. Picture 3 phone ringing at max volume and flashing like a strobe, all at the same time. Reducing the volume's easy but the flashlight? There's no paper instruction manual included - you have to find it on the web (which isn't difficult.)You can't turn off the strobe light from any menu, instead you have to enter a code for which you will need instructions. {Menu-#-345}. Another code you might want is {Menu-#-200} which lets you answer the call without having to press the green button. The manual is 84 pages long with dozens of codes for fancy features. The two codes above were all I needed. If you're expecting a phone you can just plug in then this might achieve that but really needs a bit of tweaking to make it ideal. Having written about the negatives, I've got to say I love this phone - best one I've ever had. (By the way, my box contained a lead to connect it to a standard BT socket.)

large display and keys. Excellent volume and suitable for hearing aid users
Purchased to replace old Panasonic phone used by my 82yr mother-in-law, who is a hearing aid user. The large display and keys. Make it easy for her to use the phone and once shown the phone menu access. She was very comfortable using the phone and quickly learnt how to operate control of the volume using the small buttons on the side of the phone's body.PS: A small, simple guide to setting up the phone. Would be appreciated.

Additional handsets not available
The additional handsets specified in the product manual (KX-TGUA40) are not available. Panasonic online shop recommended the handset KX-TGFA30E - this is smaller, the screen is smaller, the buttons are smaller and less clear. The recommended handset functions properly but is not ergonomically compatible with the original equipment (KX-TGU432). If a user has restricted grip, eyesight or arthritis of the hand then do not buy this equipment and expect to add additional handsets. The additional handset as recommended by Panasonic was shipped in bags marked 'For Italy only'.

The Most Essential Cable Is Not Included
Annoyingly doesn't come with a cable to connect the base station to the actual phone line!Otherwise seems like a good product but for us this meant chasing round to try and find a suitable cable (not every one has an RJ11 to standard BT plug cable lying around)
