Product Description
Vitamin E is one of the 13 vitamins the body needs to run effectively. Cheeky Nutrition softgels contain 400IU of natural d-alpha Tocopherol which is the most biologically active form of vitamin E on the market. Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin with antioxidant properties that protects cells from oxidative stress by fighting off highly reactive free radicals within the body. Vitamin E slows the aging process of cells, and helps maintain healthy skin and eyes. As well as slowing down the aging process within the body it can also slow down visible signs of aging by protecting the skin from aging factors such as pollution, UV radiation and poor nutrition.

A high dose Vitamin E supplement – not suitable for vegetarians
Rather sadly Cheeky Nutrition has chosen to use Bovine Gelatine in the composition of the softgel shell of these Vitamin E capsules - making them unsuitable for vegetarians and vegans. The vitamin E itself - D-Alpha Tocopherol – is derived from natural soybean oil so it is a shame that Cheeky Nutrition will loose a sizeable percentage of the potential market for this product as vegans and vegetarians will have to avoid it. As a vegetarian myself I asked my wife – not a vegetarian- to try these capsules and report back; she found them easy to swallow without too much unpleasant aftertaste and no adverse reactions. Each capsule contains 400iu of vitamin E, which is well over twice the NRV for this nutrient so may offer some benefits to your eyes, skin and general well-being as well as fighting free radicals. Like with all food supplements some users may benefit more than others and these vitamin E capsules are no exception – they shouldn't do you any harm but may not actually do you any good either. Currently around eleven pounds from Amazon for a pack of 90 these capsules are reasonable value and will give a three month supply at the recommended one-a-day dosage. A decent-enough product for beefeaters – everyone else should avoid.

High Strength,Not Suitable for Vegans or Vegetarians
I wasn't sure what softgels are; they sound like some sort of sweet, but it turns out they are just the normal gel capsules Vitamin E usually comes in. The shells of these are made from Bovine Gelatine, so avoid if you are vegan or vegetarian. I take Vitamin E every day as it really helps my varicose veins, but I was surprised to see on the front of the label just, "90 Softgels Vitamin E Food Supplement" no mention of how much Vitamin E is in each capsule. I had to look round the back of the label to find that they are 400IU,quite a high strength; normally this information is plain to see,so be careful if you can't take the higher dosage. These softgels worked very well for me,but they're not for you if you are vegetarian or vegan, or can't take a high strength Vitamin E.

90 capsules of 400IU strength
These are one-a-day oval shaped softgel capsules, measuring approx 15mm long x 9mm at the widest point, which for me personally, aren't too difficult to swallow with water. There are 90 in the sealed tub but I wonder why they are in such a big tub though as it was only half full. I got these in November 2018 and the Best Before date on the base was September 2019, so plenty of time to use them. The NHS website advises that the amount of vitamin E you need is 4mg a day for men and 3mg a day for women, and that taking 540mg or less a day of vitamin E supplements is unlikely to cause any harm. Each one of these capsules is 400IU strength, and I have read on the US Dietary Supplement Ingredient Database that this equates to approx 360mg (IU x 0.9 = mg), so they fall within the safe limit advised by the NHS.The capsule tub advises that you should not take these if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or taking prescription medicine or under medical supervision without consulting your GP first, and that the daily dose should not be exceeded.

Great protection.
I have a thing about Vitamin E. I think it's the most underrated Vitamin known to man. Everyone raves about Vitamin C but if you really want to protect yourself against colds, flu and any other number of illnesses, take Vitamin E! These capsules are great: very soft and easy to swallow.

Bovine gelatine
Rats, my mistake but I mistook the tick symbol on the back of the container for a V as in suitable for vegetarians. I can't give a negative for that as it's my mistake but the labelling could be a bit clearer. Anyway it's vitamin E tablets in quite a strong doseage so in itself it's a good thing to supplement your diet with. It is made with bovine gelatine which seems a bit unnecessary but there you go.

Have Not Noted Any Difference
The container of gel pills comes in a sealed container and other than they tend to stick to each other they are easy to swallow.Alas, I think perhaps a broad spectrum of vitamins may better suit me as these do not seem to have any effect on my health.Perhaps as a boost to multivitamins they may help so as soon as my order arrives I shall try that.

Gel capsules made from beef gelatine
My mum takes a daily dose of vitamin E, as it seems to help control the appearance of liver spots. Since switching to these capsules from her usual brand, there's been no darkening/reappearance of liver spots, so she's happy that they're effective. The gel capsules are made from bovine gelatine, so they're not suitable for vegetarians or vegans. A bit more expensive than mum's regular own brand supplements.

Vitamin E
These are gel capsules (which are composed from animal derivatives, thus not vegetarian or vegan friendly). They are easy to swallow and fairly good value considering the pot contains 90 capsules. Vitamin E is supposed to improve the condition of one's skin and eyes.
