55-Gallon Drum Dolly Set of 4 - Heavy-Duty Steel Dolly Pack with Cross Braces and 4 Caster Wheels - 1,000-Pound Capacity Each by Pentagon Tools

I am very pleased with my purchase of Pentagon 83-DT5492 5041 Tool, Heavy Duty, 55-Gallon Drum Dolly, 4-Pack. I needed affordable dollies to facilitate easy movement of my four emergency water storage 55-gallon blue poly drums (recommend filling with water after placement on a dolly). While researching the reviews for this product, I had concern that the half of the bolt supplied with each dolly might contact and damage the 55-gallon blue poly drums. I decided to substitute 32 each M8-1.25 x 12mm Flanged Button Head Socket Cap Screw Bolts for 32 of the 64 each M8-1.25 x 16mm Bolts supplied with my four dollies. It was a perfect fit and utilized the existing nuts that came supplied with the dollies. Here is what I recommend for each dolly used with 55-gallon blue poly drums (follow the manufacturer’s assembly instructions with the following exception): Substitute 8 each shorter M8-1.25 x 12mm Flanged Button Head Socket Cap Screw Bolts (purchased separately) for 8 each M8-1.25 x 16mm Bolts (supplied) that contact the poly drum and install with the nut on the bottom so that the flanged button head is facing and contacts the poly drum. Haven’t rolled them around a ton but they seem pretty sturdy and by far the best price I could find. I’m using 30gal plastic drums which are too small but at the price I couldn’t resist. It actually worked out nicely because they are just small enough to avoid the hardware altogether so I don’t have to worry about the bolts cutting into the plastic and the extra width on the base just makes it sturdier. I put a piece of cardboard under the drum and filled the gap on each with a whole can of great stuff, basically fusing the drums to the dollies.

These drum dollies arrived as promised. Easy assembly (attaching the wheels). They look and work great.

Brand new dolly didn't make it 10 feet without snapping a couple wheels. These barrels only weight 535lbs. We did roll from concrete to brand new black top. But it's pretty smooth and there isn't a huge drop off, maybe 3/8". Expected a little more from these things. We bought 4 and this was the first one we put together. Wouldn't be a huge deal just to return them but we were unaware that there was a 30 day window for returns on these. So we're stuck with them now. Hoping to find a stronger set of casters that will fit. Or worse case scenario weld something up. But obviously we were looking to just put them together and roll, literally. Now we have another project to deal with.

I put super large potted plants on these to make them easier to move around. They work great.

Product seems heavy duty, however the wheel bolts are too long and have to be cut off to allow the wheels to spin. Tried to get replacement bolts or contact the company but it was difficult to do if I do not want to return them all, which I bought the 4 pack. Should not have to cut a product down out of the box. The bolts had to be placed from the top down or it would have punctured the drum. The bolt heads are a standard socket head bolt, not the smooth rounded top ones I saw in one of the pictures. I am unsure how sturdy the wheels will be after I had to cut the bolt tips off and how the heat affected the lock nut.
