I bought this for use with 11mm rope but no go. It is a very nice piece and is marked for 16mm or 5/8". I thought it might grab smaller diameter and it does - sort of. It clearly slips when minimally weighted (75lbs) as a test. I saw a comment mentioning use with 1/2" rope but haven't tested.. Recommended if it fits your use-case. I need to buy some larger rope to use with this.

I'm not sure you could beat it for the price, I felt very safe and I spent a lot of time working with a full-on fall protection harness and industrial environments. I bought this to do some work on the metal roof, and it worked extremely well, was easy to use, and was very sturdy. Felt very safe.

good grabs, but you gotta know they need a clean rope end to load on to. You got your top back spliced to its connector, so the tail needed to be blank. I'd also only use this with 5/8 "safety" rope. Any bigger won't load and any smaller might not grab. I like these better than the ones I use at work that do open like a book and you can load onto the rope anywhere along it.

The device is good and sturdy. It works as it's designed. I wish that it can be installed middle of the rope.

The Fusion rope grabber is easy to use, holds very well when I am climbing trees and is a good product for the price. This is the second one I have purchased and if I need more I will definitely buy the Fusion brand.

Perfect for protecting myself from falling off roof (7 and 12 pitch with loose gravel). I liked the quick adjust-ability. However, to release the mechanism (add slack) to descend may be difficult for some. It takes a fare amount of strength while using one hand to release (a large hand is also helpful). As for safety, it is excellent.

Because of the price I thought this would be much inferior to the other well know products of this type found on Amazon. But when it arrived It says that it was engineered and designed in the USA (probably still made in China) but not written or stamped as such. Also says rated for user weighing up to 320lbs. This thing seems well built and heavy duty and the company fusionclimb.com specializes in this stuff. I have not used this yet but if used as intended I would trust it for the odd roofing jobs I've got to do. I have taken some fall arrest/restraint training at work and have used their rope grabs and this thing is at least comparable. This one does not automatically "follow" you, nor can you slip it on at any point of the rope, you need to slide it on and move it to where you want it then it will grab the rope when released and restrain you in that place. It is a little more work but I feel safer knowing it's already grabbed on.

Got this for a whopping $25, and it seems just as nice as some 5x that price. Held my weight no problem. Didn't jam or have any other issues during my brief time with it. Definitely would recommend!

This rope grab is great if you need one for your lanyard. It does not open so you will need to make sure you can slide it in from the other end of your safety rope.
