Best one i’ve tried
I have CMC joint arthritis and have tried various braces to support, hold correct positioning and reduce pain. There are a few that do this, but most mean you can barely use the hand - this one allows me to do most things i need to as i can still move all my fingers/thumb. The main difference between this and similar ones is the two textures of the plastics - there is a softer area between thumb and index finger which stops it digging in.Most comfortable, effective one i’ve found.

Good support but feels a little too stiff - the free elastic support is more comfortable
I've been having some hand joint pain due to using a mouse for too many years. As a result I was told to use a vertical mouse which improved my finger pain but introduced pain into my thumb joint over a couple of weeks - much like when you put too much effort into opening a jar. So this splint was a perfect opportunity to provide a bit of relief and support. It took me a few moments to figure out the orientation from the instructions but they are pretty clear and multi-language with images too. However although the metal strip can be "moulded" to fit it still feels a little tight and can dig in - the velcro straps can be adjusted but I have found it to be a bit too restrictive, though it feels very odd after I take it off. It does however also come with a "free" elastic support which is more like a "tubi-grip" type support which I have found more comfortable and supportive. I found that using the main brace over the elastic support is more comfortable but can get a bit sweaty over time. There are some spare straps for the main brace too. I chose medium over large even though my finger length is in the "long" category - purely as my hands themselves aren't that big. At £20 it's quite a pricey item for what it is - it may be worth finding a cheaper elastic support to see if it helps before committing to a more expensive option like this.

good support for thumb joint
I recently developed pain in my thumb where it joins my hand. some activities are painful and I can feel the joint "give" as I try to squeeze things. This thumb brace gives good support to the joint but lets my thumb move so I can still use it. If you have similar problems I'd thoroughly recommend this one.

Get your size right
I bought this to help with arthritis in my thumb. I measured across my palm as instructed and this showed that I was just inside the range of the "medium" splint. Unfortunately, the splint was very uncomfortable and I had to return it. I've now got a "large" size - this is much more comfortable and I'll see how it works out over time.If you have any doubt as to which size to get, I'd opt for the larger one. I don't have large hands, going by when I buy gloves, so it could be that if you do have large hands, then even the "large" size may not be big enough for you.
