Shrimp definitely go with this curry. I worked in a Japanese cafe. Seafood curry was very popular. Also hamburg curry which had a hamburger in the curry rice bowl. Croquet curry had a crispy fried potato paddy tossed on top. And to add a little sweetness, the secret ingredient in curry is applesauce. Personally I also like to sautee dumplings with a bit of this coating them which is a pain to cook and sticks to the pan easily but is delicious.
