Review: The Edge Of Darkness Trilogy Is A Must Read! - O MY WORD!! I kept seeing Leigh Rivers in my feed and she did NOT disappoint! I devoured the Edge Of Darkness trilogy in no time. From Insatiable to Voracious and Restitution, this series perfectly explores morally gray obsession, trauma, addiction, and dark revenge. It’s raw, emotional, and so beautifully twisted, each book even better than the last. Kade and Stacey. I don't think I will ever forget these two! From the age of 15, this intense attraction and connection took hold and the journey they go on is full of so many ups and downs. The amount of horror and trauma these two went through…. It will kill you. But the angst, the connection, the burn, the utter soul-deep bond these two have. And when they come together, the passion and heat is indescribable🔥 The side characters absolutely pulled me in. Base? I need his and Lu’s story—because that man, he’s hilarious, tragic, and somehow perfect in all his brokenness. And Daddy Tobias? A deranged psychopath, but for those he loves, he will burn the world down for. This entire cast just makes the series. You will ride an emotional rollercoaster. You will laugh, you will want to throw your Kindle, you will cry, you will burn with them. This trilogy is dark, consuming, and utterly unforgettable. Leigh Rivers doesn’t just write heat—she gives you every emotion, every heartbreak, every reckless choice. You’ll feel every touch, every ache, and every heartbreaking twist. And every amount of healing that unfolds. Kade and Stacey become absolute warriors in every way! This story is the kind that lingers in your mind long after the final page. The kind that reminds you exactly why you fell in love with stories that are dark, that burn, break, and heal you all at once. If you haven't read this book series, YOU MUST! It is so good! Rate: 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice: 4/5🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Review: Trilogy overall is good but a bit overhyped - Overall, I did enjoy this trilogy but it didn’t quite meet my expectations after all the rave reviews on booktok. I expected a 5 star trilogy but it kinda fell flat in some areas for me which I think mainly was based on the writing. Oftentimes, I felt like I was reading a summary of important parts of a story with missing information. It would jump time/place/setting without a smooth transition. Some of the phrasing was odd as well which may be because she’s not American so I’m just not familiar with it. I also found book 3 to be a little repetitive. Outside of those complaints, I still gave it a 4 star overall because I could look past those bothersome pieces and enjoy the story. I still highly suggest giving it a try if it interests you. I did get invested in the storyline, cheering for the FMC & MMC in their trials, loving the side characters, hating the villains, crying for their successes and supporting the revenge plot. It took a roller coaster ride of emotions to get to a HEA but thankfully we did. I will note there’s a lot of dark content in all 3 books. Please check the full list of trigger warnings. (a few examples: gun violence, A LOT of sexual assault, gang r@pe, torture, forced cannibalism, forced sexwork, drugging, etc) Tropes • Enemies to lovers • Best Friends brother • Forbidden Romance • Second change romance • Revenge plot • Touch her and die

staring at a wall.....
"There are no more threats. You can dance. You can sing. You can live. Live for me." ----------- The Edge of Darkness trilogy permanently rewired something in my brain. This story is dark. Not aesthetic dark. Not “ooh taboo” dark. It’s crawl-through-broken-glass, chest-caving, soul-bruising dark. By the time I reached the final book, my heart was already in shambles from the first two. I was emotionally exhausted, worn thin, carrying the weight of everything that came before. And somehow, Leigh Rivers still managed to give me the exact sliver of closure my spirit needed. Painful as hell, but worth every second of it. Kade and Stacey’s story absolutely tugs at my heartstrings. This is the kind of series that locks you into a specific emotional headspace and stays there. Every time I see these books on my shelf, I know I’ll remember exactly how they made me feel. There were moments in books two and three where the heaviness pressed so hard it felt difficult to breathe. When I say this trilogy is heartbreakingly tragic, I mean that with my whole chest. This is not for the faint of heart, and the trigger warnings are not suggestions. One thing that struck me is that I don’t have any personal experience with most of the triggers in this series—drugs, kidnapping, being drugged, human trafficking—but Leigh Rivers’ writing is so intense, so unflinching, that I couldn’t help but feel every emotion in each scene with Kade and Stacey while they were separated, enduring trauma, and trying to survive. And then came the healing, the bonding, the struggle to get back to one another. It was powerful—tragic and beautiful, raw in the most gut-punching way. At the same time, it’s grounding to realize that these horrors happen to people every single day. Someone always needs help, and having a strong, unwavering person there for them takes courage. That reality made every victory, every moment of survival, hit even harder. And yet… within all that devastation, there was healing. Real, earned healing. Kade, my broken, tender-hearted angel of a man, deserves to be protected at all costs. Watching his mental deterioration and eventual healing was brutal. It felt intimate, like I was sitting in the room with him while he unraveled and slowly tried to piece himself back together. Teddy Hamilton’s narration brought Kade to life in a way that lodged itself deep under my skin. Stacey absolutely shattered me in the best way. Her strength, especially while carrying her own trauma, was unreal. She never wavered. Not once did she consider walking away from Kade. She was his solid ground when everything else was falling apart, and I was incredibly proud of her for choosing herself and prioritizing her mental health in the end. Of course, I also became fiercely attached to the side characters. I can’t wait to see if Base and Lu get their own story, because their dynamic had me hooked. But Tobias Mitchell truly came through when it mattered most. When Stacey reached out for help with Kade, Tobias didn’t hesitate. The bond that formed between him and Stacey, that fierce, unwavering protectiveness, was one of my favorite parts of the series. His instinct to get her out, get her safe, and keep his family protected at all costs showed exactly who he is at his core. Tobias would do anything for his family. I didn’t expect his character to evolve the way it did, but I’m so glad he showed up and showed out. They called him psychotic, and maybe that label fits on the surface, but I saw something different. I saw someone surviving the only way he knows how, desperate to be loved, and willing to become a monster if that’s what it takes to protect the people he cares about. Insatiable was my least favorite of the three, but it’s indispensable. It lays the foundation for Kade and Stacey’s relationship so everything that follows actually lands. Without seeing how deeply Kade is in it and how solid Stacey’s feelings are, Voracious wouldn’t have hit as hard and Restitution wouldn’t have made sense. The antagonists ignited a very specific, simmering rage in me, which made their resolution beyond satisfying. I needed that payoff. This trilogy didn’t just affect me while I was reading it, it lingered. Scenes and dialogue still live in my head long after finishing. The story, the narration, the emotional payoff… all of it stuck. The Edge of Darkness series hurt, healed, and left its mark. And I wouldn’t change a thing. Fully recommend. Grab your tissues and be emotionally prepared to be wrecked because you won't be the same after reading this series.

Heartbreaking But Such An Amazing Read
Rating: 5/5 Spice Rating: 4/5 Words cannot express how much I have loved reading this series. Each of these books have brought so much emotion. I cried, I laughed, I got angry, you name it! Stacey and Kade have such a hard life and have to fight to survive. I have never read such beautifully tragic, broken characters. Each character brought so much to their story. They are moments that lured me into a sense of comfort and BAM, a curveball you didn't see coming that wrecks you. Voracious and Restitution are definitely the roughest to get through. I even had a cry count! If you are a dark romance reader this series is an absolute must read. 5 star trilogy no doubt about it. The side characters are so easily likeable especially Base! I need his book like ASAP. The friendship him and Kade have is so beautiful and that is the kind of friend that lasts a lifetime. And I love Tobias. Yes he is a psychopath but he would do anything to protect his family. This series and book do end in with an HEA but just know it is HARD FOUGHT to get to. Kade and Stacey have always been in survival mode. Even when things seem to calm down both of them have have so much trauma to work through and it has left a lasting affect on their minds especially Kade. They love each other so much and just want to protect each other. I was so invested in their story and so happy they found light in their dark lives in the end.

OBSESSED IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT 🔥🖤
I’m officially crying 😭 of extreme joy! This book wrapped up the series in a perfect bow! I felt every emotion, every cry, and the hurt Kade & Stacey went through, it was powerful and I love everything about it. From book 1, I was captivated and couldn’t stop until I finished the trilogy. Kade Mitchell is the epitome of a morally grey dark hero who knows no boundaries when it comes to the woman he loves. And Stacey Rhodes is loyal to a fault, a true ride or die and there was no turning back once she met Kade at fifteen. Their love is like no other and I needed to read their HEA after all the ordeal they experienced and I freaking love the epilogues. This series will forever be engraved in my mind and heart! ♥️

Raw.. Brutal.. & Devastating, BUT so GOOD!!
⭐ Rating: 4/5⭐ There’s no neat or polished way to wrap up how this trilogy made me feel. Kade and Stacey’s story will stick with me for a long, long time. Their journey is raw, brutal, and devastating in so many ways, but it’s also layered with moments of healing and genuine love that made it impossible for me to look away. The trauma these two endured is overwhelming, and yet their growth, both individually and together, was stunning. Stacey absolutely floored me with her strength. She never faltered in her support of Kade, never once considered walking away even when she had every reason to. She held firm in her love for him while also learning to prioritize herself, and that made me admire her even more. Her story was powerful. And Kade… there truly are no words. His vulnerability, his pain, the way he tried to protect those he loved even when he felt unworthy, it all hit me so hard. I love that man more than I can explain. His story was EVERYTHING. The way he softened with Stacey, how he showed up for her while carrying so much darkness himself, he deserves the world and then some. Watching them finally choose happiness after all that suffering made their ending feel earned. I also fell hard for the side characters, particularly Base. Goodness.. that man .. I am begging for his and Lu’s story. I don’t think I’ll survive it, but I need it. Tobias? Unhinged, terrifying, and yet somehow magnetic. His book is going to absolutely destroy me and I’ll thank it for doing so. The flashbacks were a strong addition, getting that extra context helped deepen my connection to everything that unfolded. That said, I did feel like the pacing was a little off at times. Some sections dragged while others flew by too quickly, especially the ending. A few moments felt repetitive, but it never pulled me out of the story completely because I was so invested in the characters. The mix of heavy themes, dark humor, and tender moments helped balance things out. Ultimately, this series took me on an emotional rollercoaster and left me feeling both shattered and full. I’m going to miss Kade and Stacey, but I’m beyond happy they found their forever. After everything they went through, they deserved it. If you’re looking for a dark romance that digs deep into emotional wounds while still giving you hope, love, and healing, this is it. Just be ready for the ache.

Amazing!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This series is AMAZING! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ It is just fantastic! You feel like you are with them. You feel their emotions and struggles. You feel the pain. You feel their love. It is beautiful!! Absolutely one of my MOST favorite series EVER! This is my second time reading the series. I think it was even better the second time around. And Leigh Rivers is 🙌🙌! I would read her grocery list! Anything she writes is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! This is dark! So if you have triggers, make sure to check those out. But all the darkness and pain is so worth it! I will read this again. And again.
