Works really well in New England hot and humid summers.
Keeps my upstairs dry in the hot, humid New England Summers. Keeps four bedrooms and 2 bathrooms very dry and helps us sleep at night by removing the humidity. It actually makes sleep manageable without running the central AC.

Works great
I love this dehumidifier. I have my bedroom in my finished basement and sometimes get that "basementy" smell. Unfortunately I don't have a drain access in my room so I run the hose from this unit into a gallon glass jug and empty that out when it fills up. I agree with other reviewers, the internal reservoir on this unit is silly for a unit this size. I wouldn't buy this unless you have access to a drain or have a way to use the hose with a work around like I do. Otherwise you'll be emptying out the internal catch basin multiple times a day. I plan to buy another of this unit for our laundry room and we are hoping this will rid us from having any use for damp catching bag type products in the future.I've had this a little over 2 months and have used it almost every day with no issues. On very damp days I have set the timer on the unit so that my gallon jug doesn't have a chance to overflow when I'm at work. It's not super noisy. I did put a piece of black electric tape over the lights on it though, those are pretty bright at night time when trying to sleep. Overall I'm very happy and like I said above, I'm purchasing another one for our laundry room that will be able to run directly into a drain 😁

Quiet, efficient, tank does NOT hold 40 pints (maybe 8 - 16)
This is about the size of two bread machines and is on wheels - good weight to it, too!Easy to get up and running and it is amazingly quiet as it works away incredibly quickly, efficiently. It has a slim light bar that glows green, letting you know it is running, and red when tank is full (it beeps as well, loud enough to hear a couple rooms away). Here is where it lacks a star - description claims the tank is 40 pints. 40 pints is 5 gallons. This tank is deceptive at first glance - you think it is the entire bottom of the machine. It is not. It wraps around the condenser (or whatever the magic mechanical bit is) and is thin. It holds MAYBE a gallon, gallon and a half, possibly 2 gallons (gallon is 8 pints, NOT 40). Absolutely NOT 40 pints. Which means you will be emptying the tank about three times a day, depending on how humid the area you have it in. Just to give you an idea of my usage: Before the machine, humidity in main living area (1400 sq ft open concept home) was 68% and the machine keeps it at a lovely 50-50%, and no, it does not run all the time. But yes, I have to empty the tank 3, 4 times a day. Not a deal breaker when weighed against how efficient and how quiet the machine is. BUT the product description is definitely misleading. The tank is secure, fits snug, easily removed, easily emptied, easily cleaned should you need to do so. I water my plants with the water.Would I buy this one again? Absolutely. But given the size of the tank, I am sure I over paid. But I'm on the fence about that because of how quiet and efficient it is. Can't make up my mind and I should soon, because I want a dehumidifier for the master bedroom. Finding one that is efficient AND quiet? SO DIFFICULT!

Strong compressor and motor and is a solid unit
I have to use a dehumidifier in my basement constantly. I need one that can maintain a specific level of humidity due to the fact that we store auto parts there. These are brand new parts we sell online and require a low humidity and consistent temperatures. We have been through the name brand dehumidifiers in the below $300 level, and none lasted more than a year or two. I finally was able to purchase a preowned commercial line dehumidifier and it has been doing a great job so far. Recently noticing some odd sounds and the compressor struggling so i have been looking for a backup. This is the one we chose based on price and reviews. This has replaced the commercial unit while in the shop and I am totally impressed. With the digital display I can dial in the exact humidity i need. I also noticed how little it ran in order to keep up with the level I set. I actually took a peek at the motor and compressor and was equally impressed with the size and build quality. Having a stronger compressor and motor is the reason this does the job with less effort. I was planning on getting a second one of these thinking it could not keep up but no need. This is doing the job and doing it well. I am happy I stumbled across this. Generally, I stay away from the no name appliances but seeing the internal components of this I am satisfied with the purchase. I would highly recommend this unit to friends and family, even for a whole house dehumidifier it will do the job.

Works as advertised
Was hesitant due to not knowing the brand name but this has worked flawlessly for me. Had it for a year now.

Little but mighty!
We live in Hawaii and our home started having AC issues and while waiting to get them fixed out inside humidity levels were above 75%. We got this unit for our main area and upon it's arrival, we plugged it in and it got right to work pulling out water from the air. It's a little work horse and really quiet for a larger dehumidifier! I got tired of dumping the bucket of water every other hour so I got the hose it came with out and was pleasantly surprised that it was bigger and pretty sturdy. It didn't leak at all and we set the unit on the counter and drained it into the sink with little effort. We're keeping the unit even after the AC is fixed as an extra layer of dehumidification as it's a study well working unit! I wouldn't say this would cover even close to 4000sq ft.. but for our around 1000 SQ ft living space, it does well. Overall, would buy again.
