It is the whole anise, which is fragrant and flavorful.The quality, purity, and smell are just awesome.I highly recommend this star anise product.

This star anise seemed very flavorful and fresh. If you wanted it for a decorative craft use, most of the pieces are fully intact.

I love the smell and flavor of star anise. I would honestly use it as an air freshener if it lasted long enough. Unfortunately, it doesn't.Fortunately, the flavor is bold and permeating and I can put it wherever I want! This is a fairly okay value for star anise online. The sealing on the package was great, as well. I wasn't able to smell them through the packaging, but as soon as I broke the seal, I could smell them.

I love anise as it is great for adding to broths to make a bit more flavorful- I have been trying to use them while making pho broths. This product came packaged well and is resealable, and the product itself is pretty fresh-looking and smells great. I feel like sometimes ordering spices online can be a hit or miss because they come broken or in pieces, but these are holding up quite nicely.

This definitely costs more than star anise that I buy from South Asian shops, however, I can definitely tell that Fusion Select's stuff is super fresh. It tastes about the same as star anise that I'm used to, but this is just so much more fragrant, and visually not as weathered.
