I have only used them once so far and probably not for the usual task. I used them to line up magnets in a cupboard door. worked really well.

These pins are far from being accurate. They don't work with Imperial size drill bits nor Metric drill bits.It is made in China. I should have known better.

I wasn't sure what to think about another review saying that the 3/8" dowel center size was off, but my set matches their results.I actually do think that these are meant for use in metric holes - 12mm, 10mm, 8mm and 6mm. I say that because each size dowel center is consistently 0.2 to 0.25mm undersized from those four dimensions. Mine measured 11.80mm, 9.80mm, 7.78mm and 5.77mm in diameter.A set of these I bought many years ago had a slight taper on the portion that goes into the dowel hole to ensure it was centered and fit tightly. These don't, they are cylindrical from top to bottom on that portion.I can't recommend these for use with fractional sizes of dowel holes. If you are working with metric tooling for woodworking (European-style frameless cabinetry and hardware, etc), these could be useful, however it would be better in that case if the smallest dowel center was for a 5mm hole instead of the 6mm you get. Most euro hardware is going to use 5mm and 8mm holes with 10mm, 12mm, and 20mm being less commonly used.These are a good price for (20) dowel centers, but I think it needs to be clearer that their primary use is for metric holes and that the fit might still be a little loose. They are good if you can use them in that way.

5 sets (5 each) dowel center points @ 1/4”, 5/16”, 3/8”, and 1/2”. Fit is accurate, quality is good, and excellent value for the money.

The supposed 3/8" dowel is too large for a 3/8 inch hole.I thought they were metric, and it would measure 10mm, but no, they are 9.83mm wide. Too large for 3/8" which is 9.5mm.Not metric; just junk.
