A no-mess science set!
I was a bit dubious about this set at first as anything involving introducing children to science you think it will probably include potions and well... mess! But not with this set! The introduction to experiments is more to do with illusions - so things you can see when you put on the glasses etc. It's a great way to let children explore and realise that the world is more complex than we may think. The quality of all the items is great and very robust - just what you would expect from Galt. The instruction manual is easy to follow and engaging for children. My daughter is 5 so needed help, which is fine. My son who is 12 merrily worked his way through it without any help. Both of them, despite the difference in age, have enjoyed exploring this set.

Cool set- better for the younger ones
My sister just turned 9 two days ago and she did find some parts of this cool but was bored by other parts. It's all cardboard stuff so eco-friendly but also not long-lasting.I like this a lot but I think it would be best for 5-7 year olds (with supervision) and also based on how advanced the child is. My sister is very advanced for her age (not bragging, it's just a fact) so she got bored easily. If you have an advanced 8 or 9 year old, you'll probably want something a bit more advanced too. I think she would have had hours of fun with this a couple years ago so I can't rate it down due to that. The 4 stars is strictly based on it not being very long-lasting due to the materials.

lots of re-use
Unlike a lot of other science kits that are effectively throw away after one use, this one has loads of re-use.The kit doesn't seem like much but there are lots of fun activities to try, will make a gloomy rainy afternoon fly by. Feel this is good value for money.I liked that the kit mixes learning with the real science, quizzes and finally experiments to bring it to life. Very good learning tool, suitable for younger children too if they are interested in science. (3+)

Fun kit
O.K. I wasn't expecting much from this kit given the price point, and on opening the package I was, to say the least, a little underwhelmed.A few bits of cardboard, paper envelopes, a toilet roll tube and a straw with a big plastic eye. However, when you open the envelopes you realise you've actually got some decent quality bits and pieces inside. The kit comes with eye lenses, stereoscopic lenses, 3d glasses, periscope mirrors for the cardboard periscope, stereoscopic card, projector lense, suction pad, red and blue colour paddles, black striped plastic sheet, zoetrope strips and card pieces, nylon thread, stickers and a notepad.Grab some sticky tape, colouring pencils and scissors and you're ready to have some fun with professors Mike Robe and Molly Cool. The instruction book takes you through excellent eyeballs, picture projector, who's hiding (uses the red and blue paddles), super stereoscope, see in 3d, peeky periscope, mad motion (black striped plastic), zooming zoetrope, wacky window. The sciency bits are explained in the booklet too.A fun way to do science without "doing" science. Play, have fun, learn.

Simple but fun and clever
My boys were so happy to discover this new game. It's fantastic for myself as a parent because it doesn't make a mess, need extra tools or take up much space. However, kids under six or seven will need some help and supervision to do the nine experiments. The Explore and Discover Illusion Lab Science Kit is great for sparking early STEM skills and scientific thinking with its nine cool experiments. The game is a fun way to dive into the world of illusions. We tried out a periscope, found hidden pictures, made images pop out in 3D, built an eye model, created moving pictures, and performed some astonishing tricks. It's a valuable educational toy that teaches kids about optical illusions, blending fun and learning in a way that really gets them excited about science.

Alot of fun
I like the simplicity of this set, no messy liquids or a ton of baking soda to buy. It's just simple, crafting fun with an interesting outcome. The kids loved this and were thrilled to see the illusions from the things we made. The 3d glasses were a big hit as they had never seen red and blue ones before. You won't get longevity out of this, due to it all being card but you will get quality time and new experiences.

Perfect for little budding scientists
Perfect gift for a budding scientist girl or boy. Initially I thought £15.99 is too expensive for a few bits of paper and card but then it arrived and my opinion changed. Is really cute and well presented and doesn’t seem that expensive when you consider the price of children’s magazines which also contain the odd activity that they can try.Is recommended for ages 6+, a younger child will need supervision and a lot of assistance, an older child can be just left to it. Included is an important list of advice and safety rules. Included are 9 experiments with instructions and also a child friendly scientific explanation of what is occurring.Beautifully presented, really cute, would make a really nice gift.
