It is not designed to attach a headboard. It is sturdy enough to hold one if you do some drilling for the attachment but not out of the box, no.

Q: How to prevent mattress from sliding around on frame?

Because: there’s not a lot of surface area actually touching the mattress, the mattress weight actually keeps it relatively stationary: it doesn’t move around at all it’s actually really decent. I imagine it has a lot to do with the mattress itself: sitting on top there if it’s too light~ or if it’s a heavy mattress?I believe that would make a difference.
