They work
I got these to be able to apply cold to sore muscles and joints after working a long day as a nurse. They work well for my hip and cover enough area to help get it cold enough to numb it. They are also a good size for the low back area. Good price and I liked that there were 2

Durable and Cold
I keep these cold packs in the freezer to use as needed after foot surgery. They can be formed to fit where you need them. I wrap a towel around them to protect the skin because they are very cold. I use an elastic bandage to hold them in place. They stay cold for over an hour by stacking 2 together. I have not tried heating them.

These ice packs are great!
I had a hip replacement recently and we ordered 2 packs of the ice packs. They are so convenient to use because you can just put them in the freezer for an hour and ready to go. They were the most comfortable to use just lay on a towel and put on the incision. The only thing is if it’s for your neck, shoulders it doesn’t bend to make it comfortable. I wish they had some like 6x4 for small areas.I used them whenever I had pain and had relief very fast.

Received two hot/cold gel packs
I always appreciate when items can be used for dual purposes. This is the case with these hot/cold gel packs. Being able to use them for heating and/or cooling reduces the need for unnecessary duplication of treatment packs which need to be kept in the first aid kit. Measuring 11X7 inches each, the packs seem to be somewhat thin (meaning not overly filled with gel). While thin makes the packs flexible (particularly after having them in the freezer), it also means that they do not retain the heat/cold for an overly long period of time. Having two, I can be "charging" one in the freezer while using the other; however, since the freezer time is recommended as an hour, this still means that I will spend the majority of the time waiting for a pack to reach desired temperature. In testing, the packs cooled rather quickly in the freezer (also probably because the gel is somewhat thin within the pack). The seller does not identify the material of the outer shell of the pack, but it is almost too cold against the skin after first removing it from the freezer. I needed to put a cloth between the pack and my skin. Some packs come with a cloth side and a nylon/plastic side. These do not. Also, because of the plastic type outer material (their listing refers to child sized packs in which they identify the outer covering as "medical grade PVC"), the edges become rather rigid and somewhat uncomfortable when the item is first removed from the freezer. Overall I would say these are basic gel packs. They certainly can serve a purpose, but I've tested packs which offer greater comfort and longer heating/cooling times. 3 stars.

Great size
Covers the area on my back perfectly and I love that you can use it hot or cold. It works really well and stays cold for a good amount of time.
